V Moda M100s worth the upgrade from Audio Technica ATH-M50s?

Thread Starter

I'm looking for a new pair of headphones, as I'm returning the defective pair of modded ATH-M50s from SoundProfessionals. Would the VModa M100 be worth the $120 upgrade (I purchased my modded ATH-m50s for $180) considering the following?

Budget - $180 to $300

Source - Computer/iPhone

Requirements for Isolation - This isn't a big deal. I'll be using it primarily at home, and -occasionally- on the go. Maybe a few times a month at a Starbucks/library or something.

Preferred Type of Headphone - Full size/over ear

Preferred tonal balance - Balanced would be nice... maybe a slight emphasis on bass.

Past headphones - ATH-M50s. Solid pair of headphones, still one of my options.

Preferred Music - All sorts--mostly EDM and mainstream though. Also will be using moderately for video games.

Location - US

REQUIREMENT: Must have removable 3.5mm cable, as I want to use the VMODA BoomPro microphone.

Yes. The V-Moda M-100 is regularly recognized as a good upgrade over the M50s.
