Need help for a multipurpose setup upgrade

Hello everyone,

I want to upgrade my actual setup as I want to invest in better audio quality.

I have an little idea about what I want, but I would love to see your personal recommendations.

I'll try to give you as many info as I can.

I live in Canada, all parts MUST be available in my country. All prices here are in CAD.

English is not my native language, please correct me if I'm wrong.

-----------------------------------------

Actual equipments

-----------------------------------------

Everything is withing reach while sitting at my desk.

Guitar Amp :

- Roland Cube 30 (http://www.rolandus.com/products/details/447/specs/)

- The Recording out/Phones is plugged in the Line 1 of MIX100 with cheap 1/4'' jack cable.

- Guitar use cheap 10' 1/4 jack cable.

- I hear distortion in my headphone when the ''Recording Out'' is plugged in and the amp is not turned on.

Mixer :

- Tapco MIX100 (http://www.mackie.com/products/discontinued/tapco/mixseries_om.pdf or http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/tapco-mix.100-compact-mixer)

- ''Line 1'' is used by the guitar amplifier ''Recording Out''.

- ''Line 2'' is sometimes used with XLR Audio-technica MB 1K

- ''Tape In'' is used for onboard PC line out.

- Tape Out'' is used on onboard PC rear mic in (for when I record my guitar).

- ''Phones'' is used for headset with 1/4'' to 1/8'' cheap adaptor.

Headset :

- SteelSeries Siberia V2 (http://steelseries.com/products/audio/steelseries-siberia-v2#section-specs)

- Mic is plugged in PC front microphone in.

- Used mainly for music/youtube/movies and gaming.

Microphone :

- Audio-Technica MB1k (http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/9e8498dca37fcf98/)

- Used for acoustic guitar recording

Speakers :

- I use my Asus VW246 integrated speakers or Raspberry Pi (see later)

PC software/hardware/audio :

- Music player : Foobar2000

- Favorite albums in FLAC format, others in mp3.

- Gaming motherboard (http://ca.msi.com/product/mb/Z77AG45.html#/?div=Detail)

- I listen to all king of music, but I'd say Deathcore and Melodic Deat Metal are the main ones.

Others :

- Raspberry Pi with XBMC on TV screen with decent Sony 540W Mini Hifi shelf system for movies.

-I Stream movie and TV shows, and I used it as speaker with my PC audio library.

Main issues :

- I can hear a buzzing sound when the Cube 30 is plugged in, even if it's turned off. I need to unplug it every time.

- I can hear some low strange noise and it is really annoying,

- Headset is just.. well you know.

- I'm not satisfied with the overall audio quality.

-------------------------------------------

My budget and basic ideas

-------------------------------------------

I'd rather have a DAC than a soundcard for portable purpose and I don't really care about all the gaming things you get with soundcards. But again, I would like your suggestions. DAC vs Soundcard : a soundcard would let met get rid of my mixer..

I'm not planning on changing the guitar amp for the moment, but I am interested in the Orange Micro Terror as I only use my headphones.

I listen to everything on my headset, so no need for speakers.

I'm really lazy and I would like a setup that don't need to plug/unplug anything.

These are in priority order.

Headphones :

- 150-200$, some good base is important. Open or closed.

- I was thinking about the ATH M50, like any new here must do.. (http://www.amazon.ca/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B000ULAP4U)<

- The Shure SRH480 if they are on sale..

- I hate playing guitar with the cable running everywhere, but I can deal with that.

DAC/AMP/Soundcard :

- 150-200$

- I was thinking about the Audio-Engine D1

(http://www.amazon.ca/Audioengine-24-Bit-Computer-Interface-Black/dp/B006IPH5H2/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1397509190&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=audio+engine+d1)

- I saw the Scarlett 2i2 on a Youtube videos, never heard of it..

Microphone :

- I would like a microphone that I could clip on my shirt when I need it but also record my acoustic guitar.

- Small form is a plus.

Mixer :

- Quality and tester mixer with only the inputs I need. No need for extras. May help for my the noise on my current setup..

Cables :

- Good quality cables and adaptors if recommended.

Guitar Amp :

- Maybe the Orange Micro Terror to get some space.

So I think I need to consider a Audio Interface, such as these :

Facusrite Saffire 6 USB  $  120.00 http://global.focusrite.com/usb-audio-interfaces/saffire-6-usb/specifications
PreSonus Audiobox USB  $  125.00 http://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-USB
Facusrite Scarlett 2i2  $  162.50 http://global.focusrite.com/usb-audio-interfaces/scarlett-2i2/specifications
Facusrite Scarlett 2i4  $  215.00 http://global.focusrite.com/usb-audio-interfaces/scarlett-2i4/specifications
PreSonus Audiobox 22vsl  $  215.00 http://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-22VSL
Facusrite Scarlett 2i6  $  225.00 http://global.focusrite.com/usb-audio-interfaces/scarlett-8i6/technical-specification
AVID Mbox  $  275.00 http://www.avid.com/US/products/Mbox/overview

I am really concern about the headphones output audio quality. They are all 24bits/96kHz. Remember that I will use it as my main audio source.

Wich one to pick up ? Or should I keep my mixer and buy a USB DAC to drive my Tape In ?
