Audio-gd NFB-28 sabre dac 9018 stunning condition 240v SOLD
Will Ship To: Anywhere
Years ago I owned the nfb-10SE dual wolfson balanced dac/ balanced amp and was very impressed by it. For the money, I couldn't see any thing bettering it as an all in all balanced unit imo. I begged King-wa to supercharge it with the flagship sabre dac 9018 but got very little in reply. Any way years latter the NFB-28 came out and to me it looked like he had taken the unit pretty much all the way, OCC wires, sabre 9018, big r-core, hi-end case and so I bought it, of course with the upgraded clocks, maxing it out.
At first it was great but a little hard on the sound sig if that makes sense. it lacked a little fluidity. But all in all it was really impressive. I have owned a lot of GD units including flagships and am well aware of the burn in his amazingly elaborate power supply sections need to settle. (Love his take on big power supplys btw)
So I connected everything to it - btw this unit does literately everying. You can use it as Just Dac, Just amp, even just preamp if you want to check out another dac and another amp which has no volume. I had everything connected to this beast. Balanced Monitors, another Balanced dac inputed so I could switch between dacs with the very capable balanced amp. & It did a lot more if you used the singled ended and ACCS connections too.
Anyway after several months, the burn in took place to leave quite a spectacular fully balanced dac, amp, preamp. The hardness receded, the finesse arrived and so did the sparkle & fluidity.
Suit near new buyer -It's pristine condition - the unit is finally burnt in an imo really should be sold like this new. Such as difference.
BTW there is no way in hell I'd sell this if it wasn't for the financing of the Yulong statement A8/D8. Not very happy about letting it go and my setup will be very "disconnected". Might have to use my hifim8 for my monitors till the yulong arrives.
the list price is a little misleading as paypal, and shipping and of course the hi-end clocks aren't there. Unit cost me well over $800usd. Around $850+ off memory.
So I'll do the opposite for simplicity - all inclusive price - so I'll drop it a couple of hundred usd's. Sell $625 USD I pay pp & I pay shipping.
Low ball offers with be respectfully ignored. If I can help it I wont sell the unit & it's priced to sell.
