The DX90 by iBasso . . . Sound impressions . . . . . . . New Firmware, 2.5.1 . . . - Page 15

I was just giving some detailed listening to the DX90 after a good 10 hour burn in..

It feels like the sound had somewhat improved (but I have no quantitative measure for this obviously, so I cant be sure if it's placebo effect or not)

I put Yiruma's music on.. I am completely blown away..

It is almost as if I am sat right next to the piano and he is playing the piece for me.

The atmosphere it creates is very beautiful and delicate.

I have never had the feeling this strong towards those pieces when listening from my PC.

It is just magical.. so impressed...

AKG545, straight from DX90

I will be burning in the DX90 for the next 48hours straight and will re-evaluate.

A more detailed description of my impressions are located here as well as some other X5 vs DX90 comparisons. Sorry for the link I just did not want to spam my ramblings everywhere and just found this thread. Still getting use to the forum.

I feel just the opposite. The x5 was not nearly as realistic sounding to me on recordings I know because I was there. The recording engineer also heard both plus an AK and will be buying a DX90. The value is the best I've seen.

I was there too. Were you the guy wearing shoes?

I was only wearing boxers and suddenly I was there. The DX90 warped space/time and dropped me off and I sort of panicked.

Next time I'm wearing clothes...

I know some folks asked about using the 4400mAh battery with the DX50/90, so I thought I would post a few pictures.

Of course the back cover plate won't fit but the silicon sleeve keeps the battery in place.

Hey iBasso!  How about offering a cover plate that will fit this battery that we can purchase separately?

The last photograph is of my current "system" (until the Dunu DN-2000s show up).

BTW, the DN-1000 IEMs pair excellently with the DX90!

Cheers and Enjoy!:beerchug:

It's certainly fatter than I thought it would be.

Look carefully, it's the backside so it's constipated.

Is the DX90 better than the AK100?

People are saying it's better than the AK120, so it's probably better than the AK100.
