Stuck between options!! - Page 2

That's the joy of being a head-fi'er, endless choices.

I think that you picked some really good contenders here.

Of those mentioned so far in this thread I've got them all except the KC06 and the VSD1LE (got the original VSD1 though) and here's my 2c on them for your intended use:

AX35 :For working out this is a great IEM. Nice punchy bass, durable build, great cable and sits nice, good isolation, and tight in your ears. They are not good for sleeping though since they stick out too much from your ears.

Piston:I would not recommend it for either of your intended use. Due to the wide housing many people (including me) report that they doesnt stay good enough in your ears for workout. The doesn't isolate good either (below avarage). And they have the same problems in bed (;)) as the AX35.

Havi B3: Can be hard get them to stay fixed in your ears for workout but it can be done with the rigth tips. They're great for sleeping though with their low profile housing. I feel that they lack that extra hump that I like when working out but for me they have the best overall sound quality of the ones I can comment on here.

VSD1: Even though I haven't heard the LE version I can say that fit wise they're great for both working out and sleeping with. I'm a bit conserned with the build quality though since the strain relief at the housings have got loose on both side on my pair even thogh I've only used them to sleep with.

Narmoo:

They are really great for the money. The flat cord should not be confused with the one on the MH1 since it's way more flexible and gives a great feel of quality. The housings are big and will not be nice to sleep with. Overall build is top notch and these should be pretty tough to brake.

From these  I would say that the AX35 and Narmoo are the best for working out and the B3 and VSD1 are the best for sleeping.

Reading about the KC06 makes me believe that they might be the golden middle way here.

From the ones you're considering I'm sure you'll be happy with the sound no matter which one you choose cause they're all really good value for money. I actually prefer them all over the GR06 that you also metioned but that is based purely on sound signature.

Hope this helps and just not bring more confusion to you

Thread Starter

you sir have helped me quite a lot, thanks!

that crosses out the pistons.

the havi b3 is still an option as I have a lot of spare tips and foam tips at hand to choose from

May I ask do you know much about the ie80 fakes?
There's not much about them on these forums, but most that I've read say good things about them

here is a link to a seller on aliexpress and ive asked if they accept paypal which they do which is a strong plus for me.

Theres the moxpad x3. They have a detachable cable, triple flange ear tips (tons of isolation and tight fit), and a bass boost according to this thread. If you want more info, you're going to have to go to the chinese/ asian brand thread because I haven't heard these.

They're also a good suggestion!

They fit great for both working out and sleeping. I personally think that they're a bit boring but many others seem to rate tem higher than I do.
