It's a crap shoot if you don't know the seller or if they other than a seller with a very high number of reviews and a very high rating.

I've had increasing trouble with third party sellers on Amazon--especially new ones.  It is clear that they are not vetted at all--or if they are, it is done so poorly as not to matter.  It can sometimes be no better than eBay.

That's a decision for you to make.  Only you can determine whether it is worth the risk to you.  A one review seller is anyone's guess.  At least the single review shows to be +.

Oh I was reffering to the $150 one where the seller 96: positive feedback with over 60 reviews i think

Lower risk--but I would like to see more reviews.  There are some sellers with 50 to 100x more feedback.  You also have to check how recent the reviews are and if they are for the same or similar type of item.

Some of the 3rd party vendors are very good. For electronics, I've had good luck with both onecall and sonicelectronix through Amazon. Just gotta look at reviews, just like Ebay.

My only problem is that these are over $220 brand new on amazon and 190 on B&H Photo, sadly I heard that because of popularity the price sky rocketed so Ive been trying to find a cheaper pair but it seems like no one on this site are selling any.

They were cheaper about 6 months to a year ago before they changed the cabling on them.

Yes--those are examples of well known dealers (at least to some) who operate their own independent on-line sales businesses--and in some cases brick and mortar stores, as well as being at Amazon.  There are a number of CD and SACD sellers who do the same thing.

In contrast you will often find someone, perhaps with a name that suggests that they are an established retailer, who operates out of their garage, basement or spare room.  Some of these are fine too, but all too many are mediocre or worse.
