$500 or Less, Great Sound, Comfort + no Amp ... You spend the $$$ Selection Help needed!

So ... I have a problem.  I bought a pair of Sony MDR-ZX700.  They sounded great and were pretty comfortable.  Although they did feel a bit weird on the top of the head after a couple of hours.

Then all of a sudden ... they were dead.  What I think happened, is that one day my volume was jacked up on my laptop and they were plugged in and KABOOM no speaker in the ear.

Time goes by ... I miss my headphones and have used some uber cheapo buds to fill the void for 'have to' things.

But now I am back in that spot where I simply can't live with that.  My music sounds terrible.

So then I go to the store ... and I listen to like 50 headphones, and something is just off.  I dont know what ... but that same Sony sound I just wasn't getting from the Beats and the Rastafarian ones and the Bose etc.  And I know I am a novice ... but how can they all sounds SOOOO different.

So then I come out online and end up here again because its the one solid piece of advice I got before.  One key difference, I'm not necessarily worried about money as much this time.

Looking for your guidance.  Over the Ear.  Comfortable.  Sounds like the artist intended.  Less than $500.  And I cant carry a amplifier everywhere, so those kind are out.  Noise Cancelling isn't a worry at all.  And fool proof, as evidently I exploded the last pair because I forgot to turn down Windows volume on start-up.

HELP!

Hey there Rick.  I don't think you need any headphones.  Just grab some from Jessie the next time you are over there!
