thanks this is super helpful, unfortunately my laptop doesn`t have an optical out so I`m going to run from USB - DAC - optical - sound system. as for the EQ thanks for the link I will take a look at it and download it, I am guessing the Modi is the best out of the list, problem is I don`t want to exhoust my budget since I am also purchasing a fiio x3 ( might couple as a DAC for my laptop for the time being) until I get my Desktop, http://www.head-fi.org/t/714179/fiio-x3-vs-fiio-x5-or-other-help-please#post_10449977 feel free to give your input about this, I really appreciate your suggestions :) :dt880smile:

update , finally pulled the trigger and ordered the asgard 2, found a great deal on a slightly used unit for 180$ can`t wait for it to arrive, the seller seemed super nice and had a very high rating, contact schiit about the difference between it and the first design and it seems there are plenty of improvements in the soundstage and better support for lower impedance headphones despite the bad review headfonia gave to the asgard 2
