Light Harmonic Geek Wave - Page 26

Backers in the Pulse campaign could get a GO for $99, and they can get one now for $149. It's whatever pricing scheme they choose to use.

yeah, that's what scares me a little but i figure the geek wave 32 and maybe like sgs said, dual dacs and the usb functionality might be okay to invest in and then upgrades later on.

No luck asking on the Geek Wave Forums over at LH Labs? They seem pretty responsive over there. You'll also have better luck getting a correct answer rather than best guesses which is the most you can probably hope for here.

At the end of Geek Pulse survey, after confirming our orders, there were options for us to make other purchases or upgrades.

So for Wave, most likely. It's not a confirmation though.

Speaking of the Pulse, how long  has it been pushed back for (when compared to the original estimated ship date)?

I'm trying to get a realistic idea of when the Geek Wave will begin to ship. I doubt it'll be March 2015, if the Pulse has been pushed by by any significant amount.

The original delivery dates varies by model from May to July 2014.

Deadline for survey is 31 July 2014.

Maybe for the month of October +/- 1 month...

Hoping for lesser glitches on Geek Wave.  It doesn't have the redesigning/rechanging issues acquired during the campaign.

LOL!

Thanks for the kind words.

How does it sound? Amazing...plain and simple.

I have never heard a portable with such great quality bass and liquid mids. If I had the spare change, I'd definitely be buying an XD with the DAD package and IEM perk. No joke...it's one kick ass player. It's very revealing of a crap source and it plays great recordings with such finesse. I've heard a lot of players and DACs and this is one of the very few that made me go "WOW" as soon as I hit play.

Good to hear, I went all in on an XD /IEM/THD/DAD....If you don't mind me asking, what music and resolution did you listen to?  Oh, and one more, how long did you get to listen?, ok, really one more :), what phones?

Muchos Gracias!

It was LFF's comment. He is the maker (modder) of the Paradox and Enigma headphones.

More Perks!

After pouring over both the Geek Force's insight and the comments in the Geek Wave campaign, Larry, Gavin and I strategized, conceptualized and tested(ized) a few of the most popular requests from the backers of Geek Wave.

$777,777 Stretch Goal

Geek Wave 64, 128, X128 and XD128 will all be outfitted with an additional SDXC slot! Once we hit $777,777 this sweet, savory feature becomes reality.

Geek Source Payment Plan

Craving a Geek Source but 4th of July party plans putting a dent in your wallet?  Don't cancel the festivities, we now have a payment plan for Geek Source!

Pledge $267 towards the Geek Source payment plan perk as a down payment and we'll invoice you via PayPal for two additional charges of $266 after the campaign has closed.

Each invoice will be sent 30 days apart after the campaign has ended.

July 4th Holiday Perks

In honor of the upcoming holiday weekend, we will be opening some of the most highly requested perks from our backers.

These perks will be available starting July 3rd at 12AM PST and will ONLY be available for 74 hours.

Zero Jitter Transmission Red, White & Blue(tooth) Perk - Geek Wave 64, 128,X128 and XD128 backers have the option of adding Bluetooth featuring aptX to their already tricked out Geek Wave's for only $74.

What is aptX? We want Geek Wave to be able to stream high resolution audio through Bluetooth 4.0! With the aptX codec, we get closer to that goal. Did you know that aptX is the technology behind HD radio? While it's a compressed format, the compression algorithm is very advanced. Now, streaming your favorite music from Spotify, Pandora, Qobuz and all other streaming services has never been easier.

Please note that this option is not available for Geek Wave 32. However, upgrading from Geek Wave 32 to 64 has never been easier.

$47 Femto Clock Firework Perk - There's only a handful of Femto Clock's left and we're SO close to reaching the minimum order quantity on them!

If we're able to reach the MOQ of 90 Femto Clock's, we will release a $47 Femto Clock upgrade for our Geek Source backers. Please note, this offer is only applicable to Geek Source backers, not Geek Wave.

Once the MOQ of 90 has been met, pledge $47 to this Firework Perk and we'll hook your Geek Source up with all that Femto Clock goodness you've been requesting.  On top of that, we'll donate $8 from each $47 pledge towards the John Adams Academy music program.

Remember, starting July 3rd 12AM PST, these offers will only be available for 74 hours so act fast!

And no love for the 32 GB model. :/

Yeah, 32 is a loss leader...

Well I'm not paying for the 64 GB upgrade because 32 GB is already more than enough for me, let alone having an additional 64 GB SD card. I'd readily buy the Blue-Tooth one, but it won't be available for the 32 GB model.

since you seem to be involved with light harmonic/geek wave, could you answer my previous question about whether or not i'd be able to commit to the geek wave 32 and then do the upgrades after the campaign ended?

Ditto. Wanted BT too but I'll pass having to upgrade to a 64. All the upgrades have been available for the 32 until now. I wondered when it would stop.

Really interesting "wave" (pun intended) of upgrades: perks for everybody, but not for people that pledged for Wave 32.

It is stated in the campaign description that "Geek Wave 32 features everything in the Geek Wave 64, but it comes with 32 GB of on-board storage", so it would be interesting to know why it's not possible to fit a 2nd SDXC slot or pay to get aptX Bluetooth, exactly as for any other Geek 64 pledgers.

So, will there be 2 different enclosures: one for Geek Wave 32 owners (with 1 SDXC slot) and another one for all other versions (with 2 holes for SDXC cards), not to mention the 3rd version in aluminium for Wave 128 ? And I guess that unfortunately this Geek 32 only enclosure will not be the "standard" one, so it will take 5-6 more months to get it available. Or we can upgrade to Wave64, not being the black sheep anymore, and get it in time with the other ones.

Or even better, upgrade to Geek XD128, so we can also benefit of all the other stretched goals and perks, whihc of course are not available for Wave32/64, even if you want to pay for them

Maybe once the time will come, they will even release a Wave32 specific app, with limited feature: only FFW, but no rewind; only play, but no stop. Or you can upgrade to the Wave 128XD to get the super duper app, which has also a "make me a coffee" feature.

I'm disappointed on how this campaign is moving along: we all saw the mess that LH Labs did with the Pulse, adding variants/perks/features... and taking 5 months to prepare a basic survey to recap what they did. And God knwos when we'll get them.

And now they push it to the extreme with the Wave: even more variants, customizations, options and even different enclosures + "unsupported" upgrades.
Will we ever see this one delivered before 2017 ?

Ah...I intentionally avoided to mention the Geek Source, not to add any more meat (or smoke) to the discussion.

I did pledge for the 64GB and added the WiFi and SA DAC perks but I totally agree this is quickly becoming a total mess of a campaign with the millions of variations.
