Light Harmonic Geek Wave - Page 114

I'd also like to be able to see the original perks I backed, not possible the way it is set up there, and they constantly screw up what I have ordered.

Please could someone post a link to the survey as I seem to have lost the LH survey email? Thanks

Thanks. I logged in and checked my survey and it is totally accurate. That's reassuring. I was a bit surprised that I had 12 items in my list. I wonder what I didn't get sucked into buying?:confused_face(1):

.... I registered for the survey, so I had to create an account and they have sent me the username AND password in CLEAR TEXT!!!!!!!

Who the heck in this day and age sends the passwords around by email??????????

They didn't even bother to take the absolutely minimal precaution when you send passwords (which you never should anyway) to send them in two different emails. Absolutely astonished.

I've actually had a dozen or so different companies do this within the last year. Luckily none of them we're anything critical.

That's scary! I don't even remember the last time I got the pass by email typed out. The worst offender so far for me was from a company that sent a temp pass that was expiring within so long and I had to go and change it in that time. Other than that it is links to pages where you change it...

Seriously I am really surprised that anyone would do this. Why would they even send me my password anyway?

I'm less worried about non-financial sites but I would prefer they don't do this.      That said, most sites will send one time use passwords/resets clear text for account password resets.   You would be amazed at the ignorance of folks.  I recently had a youngish attorney ask me to send to him various financial information for a client of mine which include addresses, account numbers, balances etc.  I guess they don't teach lawyers about securing PII these days.

I also won't be asking them to try and list all of the Wave configurations or anything like that. But what I do hope to come from this is at least some answers to questions that we backers have. I don't expect them to be able to answer everything on the spot, either.

So let me know what questions you have for LH Labs and we'll see what answers they're able to supply. Questions may be re-worded for clarification.

Quoting myself as a reminder to everyone. I'll be organizing everything tomorrow and Wednesday so that it's ready when I head to Cali. If you have any additional questions that fit let me know.

1) Outside of the beta Wave units sold via the InDemand campaign, will there be an opportunity for others to provide feedback? Geek Out and Pulse have demonstrated that LH Labs could use some work on the user interface and now that the UI is going to be a much larger part of the experience for the Wave, it would be really nice to have a really solid user experience. Even if it means having the menu laid out in text rather than having real people use it in the real device, feedback for menu navigation is pretty critical in a PMP.

2) Small companies like FiiO have brought to market PMPs that have fantastic build quality for a low price. How are the non-titanium/carbon fibre/upgraded military-specced enclosure Wave models going to be built? The prototype chassis from CES looks pretty darn solid...and really heavy. Are all Wave models going to be offered like that, with a solid metal construction, or is that just a prototype shell for the supped up models?

I guess a third question I have is:
How will Class A amplification work without burning a hole in your pocket (excluding your wallet)? Class A is energy inefficient and produces a lot of heat as a result.

Not that I'm aware of.

I will add the new question to the list after a look on their forums; I seem to remember that question being answered somewhere before.

Ah, looks like you were right.

Not sure how that wouldn't produce heat, but okay.
