New 'Gaming' Headphones

Thread Starter

Looking for a pair of gaming headphones for a friend, I'm not actually sure of the budget, but I believe it to be within $100-150.

Anyhow I would like to get my friend a set that not the 7.1 surround sound, but rather a good quality hi-fi pair of headphones that also has a wide sound-stage for gaming. What are some suggestions?

Check out Mad Lust Envy's guide... just do a search for it.

Does he have a sound card? If not, he should consider getting one for the benefit of simulated surround.

Agreed. If your friend has a PC, a Xonar DG is not too expensive and would offer virtual surround for gaming. It can also sometimes be an improvement over onboard audio.
