Just a heads up-AES SE-1 FS

Just saw a great deal on a Audio Electronic Supply SE-1 Signature on www.audiogon.com. This makes a wonderful SET headphone amp...if you can snap this one up, Cary will install a headphone jack and passive attenuator for the ultimate amp...uses both 300b and 2A3's

They charged about $240, which includes rewiring and rerouting the grounds and eliminating feedback, as well as the addition of a high quality passive attenuator + Selector switch and return shipping. The modification adds a voltage divider between the headphone jack and the output using 2 10 ohm resistors, but could be changed to 5 ohms for more power (Not needed).

They also in my case, gave me a factory new shipping box...pretty close in sound to the 300sei without the cost.....and it sounds superb providing you don't use AKG 501's.....(Great with Loth X-ion speakers $399 and 94dB sensitivity...Oh my goodness, did I mention speakers in the forum!!!). I think its well worth it, and at the end of the day, its not just a headphone amp.
