Westone UM50 or W40 for House Music?

Hello all,

I'm in the market for new earbuds. Little info about what I'm looking for. I mostly listen to house music, and more than often classical, trip hop, chill-pop, progressive rock.

I want some nice tight bass when needed but not tearing my eardrums. I'll listen to them on Spotify, cell phone, mac, iPad etc. So I am not crazy about "studio" reproduction BUT I hate fabricated sound. I know I sound very complicated but all I want is crystal clear sound, with nice bass response when NEEDED, no hiss, when I close my eyes I want to feel like I'm with that singer.

The music I listen to is usually synthetic. I'd appreciate any input you may have.

You can't imagine how important for me to hear back from the community before making a decision!

I think it really is a tough question. These are new models (I'm guessing)? One is made for professional monitoring and the other for general use. You're looking for members who own (or have heard) both (that has to be very rare). I'm sure some here have heard both but may not monitor ever new thread to answer questions.

This must be it. Unfortunately the higher the price goes, the less people these babies can reach. I have no local store where I can listen to both or any of them. So I should pull the trigger to buy them online. I don't want to regret and be stuck with a wrong choice.

I'm desperate to hear some feedback about the UM pro 50 and W40s. I'm looking for new earbuds which provide textured, "soft", yet thumping bass with soundstage and clarity. I'm not sure which model would provide this to me. I listen to house/electronic/classic/indie mostly. I'm not a bass head but for electronic music whenever there's bass, there also must be bass in headphones too. So can anyone recommend which one I should go with. Or should I wait for W50?
