Looking for around the ear headphones for around $300?

Hello there!

I've been lurking here for a while, and signed up to get a pair of headphones from a member here. I wanted something I could use to listen to for gaming sessions and music. I ended up getting the Custom Pro Ones. I enjoy them, but have the feeling I would need an amp to really kick up the notch and get the full potential out of them. So I'm looking for something else.

My go to headphones we're the shire SE115/SE110, so now I am looking to upgrade.

I've listened to the Custom Pro Ones, ATH-m50's, and a little bit of the V-moda headphones as well.

I liked the ATH-m50s, but they lacked the bass to make them warm for me.

I LOVE the Custom Pro Ones, but they aren't as loud at the same volume as my Shure/m50's.

So what I'm looking for specifically:

Around the ear

Sensitivity over 100dB.

Good for long wear.

Detachable cable. (It plugs into one side only/No Y cables)

Just as much or a LITTLE bit less bass than the SE115/110

Sound quality of the ATH-m50s with a little more bass

3.5mm plug. (I saw some headphones with the larger plugs that had a screw on 3.5mm plug. Plain no.)

The headphones I was looking at are now mainly the V-moda headphones. (Going to check them out later today.) Specifically the LP/LP2/m-100.

So my max price will be $300.

My main type of music in order:
Trance/Progressive House

Alternative Rock

RnB/Hip-Hop

Acoustic/Instrumental/Classical

What are you plugging these into? Could be that a headphone amp would allow the Custom One Pros to reach the volumes you need.

Otherwise, M-100 seems like it might be the choice for you smily_headphones1.gif

I'm plugging them into a desktop.Macbook pro+Macbook Air as well as an iPhone 5s.

That's what I am feeling with the M-100's, but are there really no other headphones like them? (If so, damn Val, good job!)
