Should I pair an Asus Xonar Essence STX with my Sennheiser G4ME ONE?

Hi there,

Let me give you a little backstory. I don't consider myself as an audiophile, but I really started getting into headphones and audio a while back. A few months ago, I bought a pair of Sennheiser G4ME ONEs, a headset that supposedly used the same drivers that were in the HD558s and HD598s. Seeing that my PC used on-board audio (Realtek ALC892), I wanted to get the full potential out of my cans. Do you guys think that an Asus Xonar Essence STX would suit me well? It costs around 200 New Zealand dollars where I live. I listen to a lot of music, especially house and the occasional mainstream pop. I also do play quite a lot of video games, but that it not my priority. Sound quality is my main concern. Price isn't a real issue here, I just want something that will suit my needs and won't be overkill for what I already have. Can you guys pelase give me some advice?

Thanks,

Kenneth

The STX is an excellent soundcard, and it should work well for your headphones. smily_headphones1.gif
