Haven't gotten them yet, thing is DT990 Pro = 140 Euros over here, HE-400 = 300 Euros

I kinda already set my mind on the HD600 which is also 285 Euros.

Hi I personally would recommend the Beyerdynamic as you say you're main genre is, House Techno they will give you that Punch in the bass what you would need for those type of songs,

AKG 701 to bright tinny bass non existent imo

HD600 - Warm and a good all round but lack the punch! (bass a bit loose)

Beyerdynamic - tad on the bright side "But" nice and punchy on those low hitting notes (maybe 880's or 770's for that bass you require)

Budget Box -

Samson SR850 Cant fault them for £30 quid would recommend to try these also nice to have in a collection imo as the drive nicely on any device,

Yes, it is. It's also bright, meaning that it has a fairly sharp treble. But the DT-990 has plenty of bass (definitely more than the DT-880). Not sure how it compares to the DT-770.

ooh not liking that sharp treble thing.

I think I'm gonna get the HD600 and just get one set of cans for now.

thx

It's very good for classical but won't satisfy you for bass. So maybe the priority should be one for your favorite genres.

Agreed. If bass is a priority, and you want to avoid the brightness of the DT990s, the HE-400s would likely be your best choice.

I think it makes sense to consider buying a good closed model if HE400 is too overpriced there right now.
