New to Head-Fi, not new to enjoying music

Hello all,

I have been lurking here for several weeks and thought I should finally create a profile, so here I am.

I spend most of my day sitting behind my computer, as I work as a contractor for a lawfirm.  I don't work from home, as my internet is too slow, so you can usually find me either at the local coffee shop or the public library. This means my office is very portable, so that means most of my music needs to be portable, too.

For a LONG time (too long) I have relied on streaming services such as Pandora as my source of music.  I have recently decided that I want to upgrade my listening experience.  My search for new headphones kept leading me back to Head-Fi. Searches for a portable/quality DAC/Amp have lead me here as well.

My current setup (to be added to as budget allows. I am currently planning a wedding):
Apple Macbook Pro 2012

Bose On Ear Headphones (Previous model)

Koss DJ 200 Headphones

I believe my next purchase should be a DAC/amp so that I am no longer relying on my Macbook's on board soundcard. Probably something like a FIIO E7/E07k.

I am also working on acquiring some quality FLAC files.  I have busted out some of my old CDs and have purchased a few album online.

I look forward to doing some much more research on the site and others and appreciate all of your input.

Thanks

Mike

Welcome!

Don't lose site of the fact that the music isn't supposed to help you enjoy the gear, the gear is supposed to help you enjoy the music. :)
