convert incremental encoder to a pot

Hi I am new to this forum and I have a question to see if any of you have any exp in this. I recently purchased a model e speaker from restoration hardware.

It sounds amazing for what it is. But the main issue I have with this device is it has Bluetooth volume control that wired in line with the encoder volume control. More to the point is if I want to crank the volume I have to do so on my phone and on the device which is in a hard to reach location.

In conclusion has anyone replaced a volume encoder with a pot.

Thanks in advance.

Digital and analog volume control are not the same thing. You don't need to waste your time trying this, it will not work.

Cheers

I hate to say this but of course there not the same. I didn't ask that. If you don't know how fine, but it's not impossible.

Besides already figured it out. I'll try to make a write up on it after I use it for a bit so it's tested.

Long story short. Made the icu chip see a signal as if the incoder was always going volume up. Then on the output side for the speakers made some analog controls.

Wasn't too bad just didn't know if someone else had tried. .. Maybe make my life a little easier.
