I'm putting together a physically small battery operated system with a single clip on microphone, a belt clip amplifier with simple equalizer, and a mono earphone.

The amp I bought is typically used to amplifier and condition the output of a music player and send it on to a head set or line input to a power amplifier.

I'm experimenting with producing a cheap hearing enhancement device so the microphone will likely work best clipped to the wearer's collar on one side of the neck.

I'm working right now with a Fujiyama E06 FIIO amplifier and would like to find a microphone which either includes its own battery or better yet does not require power.

It's an experiment so I'm starting off cheap.

I expect to get a better amp too.

Any suggestions for the mic and any other thoughts would be appreciated.
