Hi all. Sorry for being late on this one. Lots on the plate. Anyways, we made balanced cables for the 240's that will work with any of our monitors. Really, all we changed was the jack since our cables are home run separately anyways but the jack takes advantage of the 240 balanced option. If anyone who has a 240 wants them, ping me at mdias@logitech.com and I'll route you to the right place.

2 LOST A&K120 SD CARDS — PLEASE HELP

Hi everyone — this is unfortunate and I'd like to bring this to the community for help. Drew from Moon Audio had sent us cables, amps, and 2 A&K units for everyone to demo in his absence. I had sent everything back to him right after the show and last night, he pinged me to ask if I had any knowledge about 2 missing SD cards from one of his A&K units.

Below are the some of the demo songs that they had on them.

If and when anyone finds them, please send them to Drew — no questions asked.

Here is more details on the actual cards:

But then I still need to chose between a LCD-XC and an AlphaDOG  to complement my TH-900 when I cannot afford to disturb the people around.

So, could someone tell me which headphone isolate (or rather Don't LEAK) the best : LCD-XC or  AlphaDOG ?

thanks a lot for your advices...

Hi Michels
Isolation : Alpha Dog is better than LCD XC
Comfortable : LCD XC is more comfort
Sound Quality : LCD XC is better than Alpha Dog

Abyss - First time I heard it was at NYC Audio Show last February. I hated it. I heard it last year at the winter meet, and I loved em. This time, I didn't like them. I think it may have been a fit issue, because I really just can't get a read on these. They are interesting sonically, but I just can't get a read. I think I like them a lot, I just need to spend more time getting a better fit

Please read The intruction manual from Abyss :

Hi Rudi,

Thank you for purchasing Abyss, the Finest Headphone on the Planet. Attached is your extended warranty card verifying your warranty coverage for three years. Please keep this along with your original purchase receipt from the authorized Abyss dealer.

A few listening tips if you care to experiment…

They don't require a good seal to the head. Try floating them on your head loosely coupled to the sides by pulling the headband full out. I've tuned them to mimic a high-performance 2 channel system, and in many respects they're better since there's no room bass modes nor cabinet resonances to muck things up.

The extremely light planar diaphragm was designed to be well controlled with minimal external damping yet be as unrestricted as possible. Coupling them loosely to your head dampens them less and of course vice versa with a tight seal; you're in control.

If you move the headphones about on your head you'll notice certain instruments change their focus within the soundstage. For example, say there is a trumpet you'd like to focus on, move the headphones more forward on your head, or even up or down, to change the focus of instrument within the soundstage. Like repositioning a pair of speakers, they allow for changes in acoustic perspective to your particular set of ears and electronics.

Try any high res really-well-recorded bass drum track (DSD source files are best with a good DSD DAC) while wearing them loose and it sounds just like the skin of a particular drum being picked up by a particular microphone, absolutely the way it was recorded at that location and point in time.

Thanks again! Take care… Joe

6. The Abyss AB-1266... interesting.. I want sure if it was some type of ancient torture device, antique electric chair head piece or some type of old medical traction device for the skull. I wasn't sure what to think about the sound. While I listened to ACDC on a the Woo Audio amp...it sounded nice, just not 5495$ nice. I don't think I got a good enough seal to hear the bass. However my wife thought these were fantastic headphones...even for the price.

Abyss – I couldn’t get the fit right in my brief tryout and felt uncomfortable, so probably as a result the sound didn’t knock me over.
I always find it hard to judge the various amps at a meet because of the different phones and music used. But the Woo audio amps seemed to have such positive comments from members. And they are so gorgeous too.

Abyss need proper amp and source to drive to their potential sound quality
I have tried many Amps portable and desktop
So Far The best amp For Abyss is :

Mass Ko Bo 394

IMO

Hi, just like to thank the organisers and everyone I met at the event in helping me to choose my first headphone system.

I now have the LCD3s and am waiting for my Woo Audio WA7D to arrive.

In the meantime I got impatient and bought a Chord Hugo, the justification being I work away a lot biggrin.gif

Thanks head-fi for emptying my wallet rolleyes.gif

Rudi, of course JPS-Labs is going to tell you that their headphones are excellent and that they don't require a good seal, they want you to buy their product after all
