Official 8th Annual ChiUniFi - June 21, 2014 - Page 13

Yes I did take the opportunity to meet Lorr Kramer and have him take measurements in two of Glenn Poor's audio/video rooms. I wasn't available last year to attend but I kept an eye open this year and was ready when the notice went up about a week before the event. I will be going back down soon to pick up the Realiser and get some more measurements made. It was an amazing experience to hear a convincing illusion of the speaker/room interaction through one's headphones. Imagine having a Xerox machine that could copy the acoustical properties of a room and the audio system in that room and you have the Realiser A8.

Hey Steve, got any Head-Fi amp straps left that you can bring?

What do you guys think of a "Pay what you think is fair" table?  I always seem to accumulate audio stuff (especially cables and DIY stuff) that has just a bit too much value to just give away (though I have done that before), but don't really want to set fixed prices or actively try to convince people to buy them.

How about a 'Serious offers only" table? I would be be hesitant to put stuff out if I'm obligated to take whatever offer is given.

Hrm. If anyone is interested in any photo gear, I'll probably be unloading a bunch of stuff -- I could probably bring it on request.

I have not seen any recently but will have to look through a few things to be sure. I thought someone took the rest home last year but I could be wrong.

Anything for an older Nikon D40X? I'm looking at flashes and I've been eyeing the Yongnuo YN-468 II pretty closely.

Sad to say I sold all my SB800s a couple months ago. I used to shoot a lot of BMX, and now that I don't, I have a pretty slimmed-down kit (though still quite a bit). I will be unloading all my Nikon stuff, including a D7000 w/grip, 35/1.8, 50/1.8 (new AF-S version), 50/1.8D, and a Promaster/Tamron 11-18. I'm shooting mostly medium format nowadays, so I have my X-Pro and X100 for carry-around duty. The D7000 is simply too heavy to tote everywhere, and I've only used it about 10 times since I sold my D700. SLR life just isn't for me anymore. That said, I would also be interested in trades for audio stuffs, since most people will probably have it in droves as opposed to cash.

I'm fine to add that distinction.

At the risk of derailing, that is an excellent flash.  I have limited experience with higher end flashes and photography, but I can't imagine a better value.  I use one with my Canon T3i and 17-55 f2.8, which I will probably bring to the meet for some hopefully good pictures.

Probably the last time I ever used flashes (SB800 + SB600 bottom fill, X-Pro1 + 35/1.4).

Definitely considering going to this meet. I live in Holland, MI so it'll be a little drive if I do.

I'd be bringing my modded T50RP, Modded Denon D2000, AKG Q701, and my Fiio E12 as well as the MacBook Pro to use as a source.

Or set the sale at the minimum price and preclude all bargaining.

Chris is riding with me and we're leaving from my house. If cCasper TFG wants to leave his car and ride with us the rest of the way he's welcome. PM me.
