Official 8th Annual ChiUniFi - June 21, 2014 - Page 10

I guess I'm kinda West... but more south. Orland Park. Yes.

well all would be welcome of course, but we'd have it more for use suburban guys.  not "north siders"..   I could always throw one together where we do the .5 meet.  no brainer there.  but something out west might be nice to.

Cool. I'm not averse to driving (my girlfriend lives in New Lenox and I used to work in Naperville) -- but parking in the city sucks. After working down there for 8 years, very few people understand why I don't want to go live down there.

ok..

So I'm definitely bringing:

Bottlehead Crack w/speedball

Beyer DT880/600ohm

sennheiser hd600

What I'm trying to decide on is my source, and whether or not I should bring my Stax setup (sr-lambda nb, srm1mk2)

also bringing the RSA Lightning and a cable to try the hifiman 560/400i balanced!!  should be pretty nice.

agree completely about parking in naperville.  it does suck.  its a nice place to walk around, but you will waste a crapton of time parking.

Oh, I meant Chicago -- but downtown Naperville sucks nearly as bad. Plus those North Central "police" are... worth avoiding. I always wonder why they waste time and money by employing those morons.

It would be super to have a west suburbs meet! I'm also here (St. Charles, right next to Geneva) so that would be mighty convenient.

Peter Hoagland and Summer Yin from HiFiMan will be attending and bringing the HE560s and HE400i.  Of course I suspect they will have the HM-901 and HM-700 there as well for sources.

For those of you who don't recall HiFiMan and Ray Samuels Audio have been long time supporters of ChiUniFi.  While I didn't make the very first event, I know they were both at the second.

Any chance we could add that list in the first post? It is currently on page 6 and I feel like page 1 would probably make it a bit easier to find.

Put it in post 2 that was reserved.  If you keep yours updated, I will weekly try and replace post 2 with your list.

I could bring a Windows 8 PC along if anybody has any questions about digital output/Windows configurations. I'm still deciding, by looking at the list, what I want to bring.

I will also have a windows 8.1 tablet there. Either Surface Pro or Asus T100. Or maybe both if we need more transports.

Logo will be uploaded within a couple days.

I've picked up a pair of Focal Spirit Professionals to bring along. You'll be able to drive them from my NFB-10ES2, my portable rig (DX90>Intruder, unless I get approval from Vinnie to ship my unit over for balanced output mod research), or my LD MKVI+ (if you're insane). I may have some potential modding to discuss with you when I get there, Frag, hehe. My Razer Blade 14" will be at the show as the hub of my setup as well. If you'd like to game on it or something to see what the staging/imaging of my setup does for you, then I'll bring controllers as well.

Looking forward to seeing it. Thanks for getting it created.

With Tweak Studio now carrying the Puredac, I will focus on getting the new Direct Stream DAC. I most likely would run it balanced into my SR-71B as I have adapters for its balanced output. I could bring the Raptor instead.

I'll bring along my windows 8 laptop as well. My rig isn't really designed for imaging for games, but if people wanted my computer is a gaming rig...
