Friend is giving me his KRK Rokit 6's and I need advice on how to connect them to my macbook pro

Hello everyone!

I'm currently producing with some HD650's that are running through a Modi/Asgard 2 combo and it sounds really well.  However I need to get into some nice monitors as the bass in my tracks has been all over the place.  My friend is going to let me use his Rokit 6's that  he is not using anymore, and I am entirely lost as to what I need to be able to connect them to my Macbook pro.  I am definitely concerned with the audio sounding the best it can,  I have a budget of around $400-600.  If you have any recommendations please let me know!  I am eager to hook these up as they will be my first studio monitors :)!

Thanks in advance

Upgrade to the Asgard2, then use the preamp outputs in the back to feed the Rokit 6. You still have enough left over for a Bifrost but no need to upgrade that if you're still good with the Modi.

Personally, I put my Dragonfly 1.2 in front of my Rokit 5's and have used them with Rokit 6's as well.  Very happy with the results on a budget scale.

signal chain = MacBook Pro, DragonFly 1.2, Alesis mixer, TRS outs, Rokit 5/6

Cheers,

Karlow
