I want to get some real quality headphones for mostly everyday use. Googling reviews etc got me into this forum so I figured I'd just put it up for the experts!
The headphones are for both "at home" and "on the go" use. I travel quiet a lot and in that aspect my first instinct was getting fully closed ones to avoid disturbing others around me too much. That brought me to the Sennheiser Momentum. They look very good which is a bonus, from the reviews I've read they got quiet good sound in regards to music.. but how are they for movies and FPS-games like counter-strike / battlefield etc? Even though I play less and less games it would still be lovely having one pair of headphones that can be used for that as well. I should probably state that on-the-go, I usually have my laptop or ipad mini for movies. Music on the go is with iphone.
Or is the HD558 a better choice if I want all tree areas (movies, music and fps-gaming) covered? These are open-back so leakage might be a problem? Will either/both work with ipads and iphones?
How does the HD600/650 compare movie/fps-gaming wise to the Momentum and HD558? Note the HD598 is absolutely out of the question as I really hate the colors of it!!! I figure these will have a harder time with ipad?
Or would I be better off getting a Qpad QH-90 where the mic is detachable as a "cheap" closed headset/phones that can be used on the go and pair it up with HD650/600 for home usage where leakage isn't as big of a problem.
Understand that it's quiet general and probably hard to give a straight answer but would appreciate any advice or input from people having used these different headphones in different situations and not just music.
What would you prefer... the Momentum for everything. The HD558 for everything. Or HD650/600 for homeusage in combination with something cheaper for on-the-go?
