Yes, full money back policy applies to the PM-1 according to the terms & conditions when I ordered mine last night.

What I need, and would happily pay a decent sum for, is an improved HD600: similar frequency response (except for lows), but with better bass, detail, air and soundstage. Do you think HE-560 fits this description at all?

I've been using the HD600 for a decade. I recently tried HD800, HD700, HE-500 and LCD-2. I liked HE-500 the best, but even that was a little lacking in highs and upper mids. Any other options?

The HE560 would fit most of what your looking for except the deep bass extension. The bass is much better than the HD600 though.

I get it, Frank. It's pretty obvious that your reference to the HD650 was in the context of frequency response. Your only mistake was also mentioning "better transparency" without providing an exhaustive list of every last trait that distinguishes the PM-1 from the HD650. ;-)

I also have an HD600 and when my HE-6 arrived the HD600 took a box seat, its been there for a few years now.

Oops! sorry, this is a PM-1 thread.

When I look at the PM-1 order page, there's an option to buy a headphone stand as well.  Unfortunately, there's no picture of this stand to be found on the Oppo website.  Does anyone have any information about the stand?

Sub-bass extension is almost exactly the same with HE560 (the baffle fixed version) and HE500, just that HE560's extension is cleaner with less harmonic distortion (to my ears). Both with the new earpads of course. Is PM-1's low end comparable to Audezes in terms of extension, do you think?

I am comparing the bass to the other models mentioned like the lCD2 and hd650. I dont think the bass on the P1 is more extend than the lcd2 original model but is more extended than the he560. There ar enot many headphone sthat go a slow as the original audeze lcd2

Once the PM-2 will be out then I will until then I have to rely on your impressions which sometimes is not too clear where they go. Now you said you also tried LCD-3 and X how do they measure up to the PM-1?

I don't have any experience with the HE560, but my LCD-2 rev.1 goes lower than the PM-1, which goes a lower than the HD650.

Order cancelled?  That may actually have something to do with OpenSSL, rather than your bank account(s).  ISP sysadmins have been scrambling to fix the Heartbleed bug reported this month; OpenSSL 1.0.1 through Sub-subrelease F has a major regression.  A fix is committed for version 1.0.2, and as of this writing is in beta test.

I think Oppo should have given the 1st 100 customers a free box of Premium Vacuum Packed Frozen Lamb Chops to sweeten the deal.
That way, nothing goes to waste.
