I think Currawong is Big Brother for the time being. Anakchan said he's heading on vacation for a week or so.
Gentleman, start your engines. Just got the following email.

Ummm... only found out the price now, when the email about the pre orders came. And wow it's quite a bit more expensive than I thought it would be. Of course it is the kind of the price that is placed on a flagship product, but personally as I have not yet owned a headphone of a similar price. However, I'm still upbeat about it since there were a couple of posts on the PM-2 so, I might be getting those instead.
I hope Oppo's Australian website gets the model soon either for pre-order or purchase - would suck if all of them sold out before they had any here. As the PM-1 is 1099 USD I won't import it due to tax/fees,
A preview from Chris Martens but no full review yet : http://www.hifiplus.com/articles/first-listen-oppo-digital-pm-1-planar-magnetic-headphones/
Those are some good impressions, with a couple quick comparisons. The way he's describing them so far, it almost sounds like a more resolving HD650 (but I could always be reading it wrong in the hopes that it fits my preferred sound signature).
Been reading these Oppo threads with much anticipation (lurking)
Went ahead and placed an order, will cost me a bit extra due to various fees as I am in Australia, billing and shipping need to be US!
Anyway, couldn't resist. Hope its worth it!
My personal sound preference is with LCD-3 / Abyss style, I do not like the HD 800's at all. Fingers crossed these work out for me!!
Best of luck to other early adopters too
I have my email to order.
They look beautiful but at $1100 a serious buy, and totally agree with Focker when I see reviews from seasoned, but not professional reviewers roll in I'll be more serious about a purchase, assuming the reviews are +.
