Some people are using it outside of our original intention, such as with a personal computer or table top amplifier, in which the 1.1m cable does not have significant length. For these applications, we are looking into longer 3.5mm cables, but I do not have a release date or pricing for this longer accessory.

So the PM-2 will likely have the same 1.1m 3.5mm cable when it ships in July.

Thanks for the clarification.  I only use the short cable with portable devices and for me 48 inches is the perfect length.  (Not too long, not too short.)

On another note, can you confirm that the denim bag will also be included with the PM-2 ?  Because the denim bag is really useful with the PM-1, much more useful than the wooden box ;)

I totally agree, the 105 is a beast for the quality in picture and Home theater sound, among others just not so for the headphone output,Do you happen to know when in June the ha-1 Will be up for sale again?

The selvedge denim carrying case is the case for the PM-2. The PM-1 is the premium headphones so it has the premium components, including the wooden box.

Unfortunately I have not ETA for the HA-1s. I know we anticipate them arriving next week, but do not know exactly when this will be.

Very good news!

I hope that the slight delay has not been caused because you have decided to make them sound brighter than the PM-1 ;)

I wouldn't want to trade the creamy mids of the PM-1 for more treble..

I've noticed that the wooden box is not very convenient for portable use....

Do tell, it least it floats!  :p:beyersmile:

I hope they are able to sell extra selvedge denim carrying cases for those who are more active or careless.

If that means they are less detailed in the treble due to lower volume in that area, then so be it. I felt that the LCD-X soundstage was more expansive and that the PM-1s are more left-and-right sounding.

For me, the relative expansiveness of the PM-1's soundstage seems recording-dependent. I have experienced large [and centric--as opposed to R/L cleavage] apparent spatial volume with the Oppo's soundstage, excellent 3-D imagery and superb resolution of subtle/complex detail.

Last night, listening to Gustav Leonhardt playing J.S.Bach harpsicord pieces [on the Deutsch Harmonia Mundi label] was simply stunning.  Never has this instrument been rendered with such finesse, smoothness and delicacy; never have these compositions sounded so captivating, so moving in their contrapuntal intricacies.

To my ears, anyway,, the LCD 2.2 could never sound as involving as the PM-1.

I'm glad I took the risk and gave these babies a ride.

Which is why we included the selvedge denim case as part of the standard PM-1 packaging. The wooden case is all about the prestige and long term storage of the PM-1s, while the selvedge denim will be the likely home of the PM-1s and the PM-2s when they are being brought from place to place.

I think the wooden box, while lovely, is practically useless.  It will remain in my closet unitl the day comes--if it should come--that I sell the PM-1.  Would rather have a hard all-purpose tote case and a $50 price reduction on the PM-1.

+1

I bet that Audeze sells many more travel cases than presentation cases. Much more practical.

The benefit of the HA-1 is that you can use the front iPod/Phone/Pad to the HA-1, so if you are looking for the sound to be colored by built-in or adjustable EQ and Sound Fields, the audio would sound better than when you are using the BDP-105 as you are using the iPhone for decoding/processing and the HA-1 for amplification. The amount of benefit going from the iPhone to the HA-1 in terms of amplification, however, may be diminishing returns as the PM-1 does not scale dramatically with an increase if amplification.

So the when the iPod/iPhone/iPad front connection is used it's not the HA-1 DAC that is used but the iDevice one? I thought that the Made for iPhone designation was because the rights had been bought from Apple to get the digital signal (not processed by the DAC) out to the HA-1?

The more recent versions of Apple iOS support standard USB Audio and do so rather well. I am able to connect my iPod Touch 5G to my desktop Bifrost DAC. I suspect that they go as far as the Audio 2 spec.

I use a Lightning CCK cable to a powered USB Hub and from there onto the DAC. I've tried this with more than one DAC, works like a charm. None of these DACs were Apple certified and none of their manufacturers paid Apple any tribute ($$$).

The PM-1's fine sonic performance and thoughtful attention to ergonomics already speaks volumes for their "prestige" and pedigree.

But I think the portable tote should be of a hard shell type.  The selvedge denim is handy, but does not give me assurance of full protection when moving the PM-1 about.
