Fiio e6 w/ DT880 Pro 250ohm - bad idea?

Would a Fiio e6 be decent enough to power a DT880 pro?  I've read some semi-mixed opinions on the matter.  I know the e6 isn't the greatest, but I'm not interested at all in shelling out for another amp.

It'll be most likely be fine. I have the DT880 Premium 250 ohm and they sound pretty good even just straight out of an iPhone or a Sansa clip!

A more powerful amp will help get the absolute best out of them, but they'll still sound good out of an E6

The FiiO E6 is maxed out when driving 250-Ohm headphones like the DT880, so I'm guessing you will not get the best out of the DT880.

I would suggest spend enough ($60) to get the FiiO E11.

ebay sells generic batteries (BL-5B) for the FiiO E11 for around $5 each.

I'm inclined to agree.

You could sell the E6 here and pick up a used Fiio (not sure which) and the cost will be relatively light. But try it first with E6, since you already have it, and see what you think.

If you are to go for new portable amp just get the E12 or you are likely to double spend.

Agreed.

I also think that if you are forking out the money for the DT880 Pros, spend a little more on the E11 for it's better overall sound (not just the ability to drive higher impedance) is worth it as well.
