Need purchase advice for closed over-ear headphones ~$100 -- similar to ATH-M20?

Hi all, new to the site here. As stated in the title, I'm on a budget of around $100 (that's CAD, not that it should make a huge difference), and looking for a decent pair of closed over-ear (circumaural I believe?) headphones; isolation is important in my choice, as I spend a lot of time in public transit. My main concern is that they fit well, and my only point of reference is an old-ish pair, audio-technical ATH-M20 - these fit around my ears very well and are comfortable, however they allow far too much sound in for my liking. I used IEMs for a good deal of time, so any recommendations in that area are welcome as well.
I would appreciate any advice or help. Thanks for reading!

Canadian actually does make a difference. Many people here think in terms of US vendors, where it's generally easier to get much easier deals than in Canada.

I don't know enough about the M20 to tell you how to improve on its isolation. Have you tried any headphones that do give you the isolation that you want?

Hm. Disappointing (but not surprising) re: the Canadian/U.S. vendor price differences.

I don't know if I'm really looking to improve on the M20 - it's rather worn out after years of use haha. Can't say I've tried many other pairs of headphones... I also have a pair of Urban Ears "Plattan" which have relatively decent sound and the isolation is better with those, but they hurt my ears to no end, due to them being on-ear: can't wear them for very long at a time.

I was, however, looking at some reviews on another site... Can't exactly remember the name now, but they seemed to be touting the Sennheiser Momentum as a good over-ear solution, don't remember it being too expensive. Any experience with those, or maybe personal experience of the size factor?

All the spotty experience and spaced-out replies are due to an extremely busy schedule and limited internet access, by the way; I really do appreciate the feedback.

Have you seen this buying guide. It has some recommended headphones further down: http://www.head-fi.org/a/headphone-buying-guide

Also, Innerfidelity's Wall of Fame lists are very good to look at, and each headphone generally links to an extensive review: http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/innerfidelitys-wall-fame
Innerfidelity will typically make some kind of comments about isolation.

You could pick from those two resources, and every headphone is a good one. Whether or not they would fit your particular tastes is another question. You kind of have to know what sound signature you are looking for.
