[NEW] Audio Technica CKR series (CKR10, CKR9, CKR7) - Page 22

Maybe now we'll get some real impressions of the 10's.

24 hours of burn in on the 7's and there's a lot of "sss" in vocals. These have more treble presence over the 10's. Bass is tight though and along the lines of the 10.

Not as beautiful as the fx850 ūüėĀūüėá

Actually they looks stunning in person. Very nice. You can tell they are not messing around with the titanium shell. Genius design how it fits..I was just thinking how this is the design Brainwaves should have implemented on their R3s.

Even though I said the aluminum version looks better to my eyes, I haven't seen the titanium in person.

You're not helping me avoid these ckr10s, lol.

The comfort is amazing for these having actual dual 13mm drivers.. I was somewhat worried when I first saw this housing for fit but I am certain these will fit everyone. The housing design is brilliant actually...

So I gave them an initial listening session from open box and I didn't know what to expect. It is like I am speechless because I haven't heard this type of sound from AT before.

Yes gentlemen we are on new ground with AT sound here. I only gave them about 3 hours of burn in and I have them in my ears as I type.. Well what can I say..Some serious R n D going on in these earphones. The sound these thing emit are akin to having some serious high fidelity speakers in your favorite Uncles Luxury sedan..

Richness abound. The reason why we love dynamic earphones are portrayed like nothing I have heard before. The range in dynamics from treble to bass has to be one of a kind in sound.  The sound for in ears is immense. While not as wide as the FX850 it seems to encompass a height and depth I have never heard before. The sound is indeed very tall. Much taller than anything I have heard before. Again new for me.. At first I didn't know what to think about this but now that I am starting to adjust to the presentation. It is actually very addicting. You can only imagine what this does for your favorite vocal tracks.

We are taught on these threads that stage is always better portrayed when it is wide. The wider the better but these have as much height and depth as there is width in its sound presentation.. This presentation of your music makes these truly a full surround experience..  I wish there was a better way to describe what I am hearing but in a word.

These do not sound anything like your traditional earphones..Control of the dynamics is another aspect that truly shines on these earphones.. While encompassing what has to be one of the best full blown mid sections for sounds, that flows up n down your face with glorious colors of sound. It can be absolutely breath taking in this presentation.  These earphones bring a new take on spacing..It is like music from your other earphones was limiting that dynamic presentation of your music.. These seem to unleash them dynamics in a way that is not only refreshing but has to be one of the if not the. Best absolutely engrossing sounds I have ever heard..

nice, so it is spot on with what I hear sometimes (the height that is, IT IS GLORIOUS.)

Play games with these, trust me on that. :)

And great impressions, way better than I expected!!!!!

I also wanted to state that the ckr9s have a great sense of speed, play a metal track, and it keeps up!

Would you agree with that?

Oh yea for certain. These have some of the best control in all regions of sound. I will have more to say about the CKR10 but for now they are going to get the Drum N Bass treatment.. So far another grand slam from AT.. With my IM03 and now these CKR10s. Both earphones bring two different high end sounds to my ears I am all too happy to own these phones. These seem to be ATs answer to JVCs FX850s. And what an answer it is.

Awesome!

Definitely enjoy these at iems, they are definitely worth the $250 and $350 bracket to an extent!

Hopefully price drops will occur in a month.

Guys looking for neutrality will not find these to their liking but at the same time. I mentioned these sound like your in a car full of high end speakers.. That is exactly how the sound is portrayed.  A new coloration from AT..These are for guys that want a serious "dynamic" sound.  Glorious just glorious.

Cheapest method of picking these up? Tenso? Which store specifically?
May be interested in a set of the 10s.
And a Sony F886 while I'm at it. I'd imagine I can find a store that stocks both and just order through them.

I bought the last one from Amazon Japan like a week or so ago.  Sold by a vendor so not sure if it's in stock now or not.

Valuable impressions by Dsnuts.  He can properly write impressions and make up for stuff I miss.  I've been listening to these at work for the past couple of days and I can say that it is not missing any treble.  Treble is done to my liking which is different from most other AT earphones of the past.  CKR7's retain that old AT treble somewhat but still fixes the sibilance issue somewhat.  I noticed it with some songs and not with others so it might just be revealing my music files.  The 10's though have grown on me quite a bit and love the sound I'm hearing.

Something wicked about the sheer power of these in ears. A bit of warning for guys that want this bold full sound signature that is on the CKR10s.. These get to ear drum puncturing volumes in a hurry.. Today I am hearing more refinement in the overall presentation of sound. Tonality for one is much better today. More treble presence but that towering sound is amazingly energetic and alive.  AT uses this new title on these earphones.  Sound Reality.. On great live recordings these make it sound like you are in front row..Jackson Brown Live and various Unplugged albums and you got your front row seat..

Uniqueness in the sound is one thing but the sheer ability of the earphones has got me giddy.. The bass on these phones are superb. SUPERB!! These decidedly sound high end to my ears with a surround type presentation that engulfs your senses with music...Just an amazing sound you will not forget once you hear it.

I got my pair through CDJapan but be prepared for a good 1 to 2 week wait before they ship anything to you. Amazon Japan is much quicker but you will have to pay Tenso for shipping your order to you.. If your buying multiple items Amazon Japan and Tenso is the way to go.
