[NEW] Audio Technica CKR series (CKR10, CKR9, CKR7) - Page 14

Thanks for taking the time to inform us vlenbo.  Very helpful so far.

Doing a good job Vlenbo..You are helping out others to get a good sense of what the new CKR is like that in of itself is commendable. Though if my calculations are correct you haven't been burning in your CKR-9s..That can't be the final settled sound that your hearing. No possible way..I want to know what those sound like to you after a week not after 24 hours.! Lol Na just joking with you.. No problem with enjoying them.

Burn them in.

Nicely done, vlenbo! My take away, though, is if one has the Sony, the difference is small, so one doesn't need these ATs, which is helpful in my case...that makes them the ONLY headphones written up on Head-Fi I DON'T NEED To Buy IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!

No problem. Thank you for the feedback!

Added a small note in the ckr9 files to help you and dsnuts (of course the rest of the headfiers who decide to purchase these)

It's mostly a frequency description, the overall balance.

Burn them in.

Thank you! It made me so happy to read this bolded black text.

Then the red bolded text scared me! I completely forgot to patiently wait until the 200+ hour mark for these, especially because of the aluminum build with steel acoustic registers!

I thought 24 hours were enough, I'm sorry! Though to be perfectly honest, I just cannot stop listening to them to put them in the burner, but rest assured, they will be burned to a crisp!

You will seriously love the build of these, it feels elegant, durable, and especially convenient with those FAT strain reliefs and the awkward shape of the ckr.

You almost got me though, lol.

Almost small, maybe the burn-in will help, which I don't doubt to be honest, I can hear a better difference in treble to state that they're getting closer to identical in sound quality.

Also, the ckm55 tips are restraining the ckr9s from expressing their true nature, unlike the sony xba-h3's hybrids.

I know, maybe my boss? lol!

Alright, have a good night fellas, I might or might not update later.

And doctor, I need a good prescription of classic rock music IF you do not mind! :)

I'll listen to the rest of your postings, I agree with you about iyer's song, it does sound like that the change of pace is intentional.

"Alex is great-a cross between Tom Waits and The Band if you want to try to pigeonhole him, though he has his own sound/unique voice."

Deifnitely agreed, I will listen to Tom Waits and the band next when I am released from my duty.

Take care!

What sites does everyone use to order the CKR's? Looking to get the CKR5, found it on CD-Japan, just don't want to order from them. I entered the drawing thing, but doubt I will win. :p

cd-japan is legit.

I thought they were some bad reviews/scams or something dealing with CD Japan? Or do sellers sell the products through them? Like Amazon does.

That was Rakuten that had some CC info/fraud problems a while back. CD Japan/Cool Japan Now is fine. Three orders and nothing but first rate service for me.
