Best headphones for basshead

I have been doing extensive research for my perfect first "audiophile-level" headphones with no luck. I am a university student with a $300 budget that likes listening to Hip hop, Rap and sometimes electronic and indie. (I am a basshead)

I would like to use these mostly at home and in the library but many sometimes on the bus (usually use IEM's) and i would be playing music through my Macbook or my Note 3. I'm considering buying an portable amp in the future so having a amp driven headphone isnt that big of a deal.

So my current needs of headphones would be:

Sound Quality

Portability

Comfort

Durability

Isolated

Detachable cord

Comes with/has a hard case that i can buy to protect them.

I decided i was going to try the V Moda M100's but i heard that there are better headphones for the same price. After my plans of the M100's being shut down, i am considering the V Moda XS but i dont know how i feel about having an On ear headphone because that might effect the quality of the sound and leaking or maybe even the Beyerdynamics Custom One Pro.

I am hoping someone would help guide me or recommend me to a pair of headphones that would fit my needs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Kiwifruit.

DENON D600. better then the M100 and its cheaper. It's cleaner with more detailed. Much larger soundstage and more comfortable. It's also more durable, it does bass better then most headphones I've had or tried too.

I don't think the denon ones will work for me due to the inability to fold

I don't think the denon ones will work because they do not fold which will make it hard to carry around.

They come with a bag. I use them for travel and they are fine. If not look into the UE6000.

There aren't. Buy M100 and enjoy yourself already.

Hahah that's what I'm thinking. Its hard to find that portability and fun sound in other headphones.
