Monitoring headphones for a boom operator

Thread Starter

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask you some suggestion for a pair of headphones. I need them to monitor the sound coming in from a Zoom H4n, which I use to record sound for some short movies I do with some friends. I'm not really looking for a pure neutral sound, but I'd like them to as balanced as possible, and of course comfortable, since I'll have to wear them for up to 4-5 hours each time. Budget is under 100 euros. Thanks for the help, and let me know if you need some other details.

Sony MDR-V5 and 7506 have been popular in the video industry for years for sound monitoring because they are very hardy headphones that are fairly balanced. You can replace them with these pads to make them even more comfortable: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/313962-REG/Beyerdynamic_942704_Padded_Earcushions_for_DT250_DT280.html

Don't you mean MDR-V6 ?

Anyways the MDRV6 / 7506 has been an industry standard for decades in both audio and video media industries.
