Brand New : Tralucent Audio Ref.1 Too & original Ref.1 - Page 34

Arrival of the Ref. 1...

Very fantastic packaging! I just love that new additional luxurious-looking black box with metallic gold hinge & lock which holds the Ref. 1 earpieces and earbuds/6.5mm-to-3.5mm adapter/cleaning brush.

And yes, that is the Tralucent silver/gold cable terminated with 2.5mm TRRS plug for my AK240. :happy_face1: Thanks to Gavin for another uber excellent product from Tralucent.

More impression to come. Hold your horses...

I'm confused.  Is the Ref. 1 officially out?  Looking forward to more impressions.

It's not. Official is in June, but if you are interested I suggest you talk to Gavin. Let's just say I am one of the early adopters who is willing to try out the product based on my faith/confidence in my 1plus2 and to give people an early review of the Ref. 1.

Gotcha, kind of a beta tester. Really interested to hear balanced versus single ended differences. I plan to run balanced if I get one down the road.

I'll be running balanced, I will let you know as soon as I receive it. Just take my "impressions" with a grain, actually a couple of grains of salt.

My Ref1's are due to arrive this coming week. I do have a set of TwAg balanced cables on hand that I can use to see how they sound balanced, although I am not sure it would be a valid comparison between the stock silver/gold SE cable vs the TwAg balanced cable. It will be difficult to determine whether differences, if any, are due to balancing or due to different cables.

Mini-meet for Kiat's visit with spkrs01, holeout, kkcc and of coz Kiats...

1.RWAK240 (holeout's) with C435 using Kiat's Toxic Gold-platted silver cable 2.5mm trrs termination

It really sounds insane

2. Uber chopsticks... and Ref 1

3. AK240 finally got defeated by Peking duck

Does the AK240 really sound better modded?

Sorry, the Uber chopsticks didn't work out. But balanced Uber and Ref 1 did for me.

there were 3 AK240s, 2 stock and 1 modded at the meet...as a loyal hm-901 user, I felt very intimidated... LoL

the difference between the stock and modded is noticeable even at a brief listen in a restaurant with background music.. I like the synergy from the modded version (not yet burnt in) with better bass extension for C435 and as holeout rightly pointed out "a more analog presentation" to the music. I think RWA would not release this mod if they did not feel good about this sound presentation...

my dislike for AK still remains........................ for I dunno how much longer.....................

George we need a quieter restaurant next time! But the food, view, gears and most importantly the guys are great last night smily_headphones1.gif

And argh I forgot to have a run with the Ref1 with my 901 last night! But ref1+uber balanced on my ak240 is really tempting.
