Even you can't really compare and how'd like the new uber? I've seen quite a number of cello headfier upgraded theirs to the new uber already...anyone can share their impressions?

The weight of the original uBer continually tugs at my ears and makes it very fatiguing to use while sitting upright vs. reclined. This is so much so, that it is actually a relief to go back to the gold/silver cable. Anyone else feel this way, and does the new uBer weigh less by chance (I doubt it)?

Hmmm...well I do like it but it was a brief listen during dinner so it's kinda hard to itemise the main factors of it's strengths (actually, that's kinda lie, 'cos I heard it again the next day with the Flow but again short while and too many variables - different DAC/Amp, etc). I'm generally quite conservative about expressing my thoughts until I have a decent listen in a controlled environment.

To me the Ubers were much better at moulding around my ear to hold the Ref1 (or the 1Plus2 too) in place. I didn't have any problem with the weight of it (v1.0 anyway).

"Turned more for Ref 1" Does that mean the 2nd Uber is tuned less for other IEMs?

I mean can I use the 2nd Uber as a generic high end cable for other IEMs with improved SQ?

If it was turned specifically for the Ref 1, it may not sound good with other IEMs.

Sorry,  a typo on my behalf...."tuned".

No idea. I don't think tuning is "mutually exclusive".

Since this uber 2 is an upgrade to the stock cable and is we may assume that it was made for the Ref.1.  However, IMHO, the V1 uber already a high grade cable (don't have the experience on the V2 yet) it should perform reasonably well with other IEMs and same applies to the V2 too?

My friend lend me his AKR03 and had spent a week with it and not sure if his unit is faulty or just a characteristic of the AKR03...I felt like there is a layer of cloth between my ears and the music and especially on vocal the singer is singing behind that cloth.  The low end of the phones doesn't seem able to give layers of bass even though it is very solid and strong, the quality of bass just simply not in the same league as my Ref.1.

The end result of such impression was that I have taken my Sony Z1000 back to the office for daily use and wait for my Ref.1 return from this friend of mind tomorrow.

Should anyone has experience of the AKR03 comparing to the Ref.1 that I've mentioned above, I'd like to listen to what you'd say on the comparisons.

cheers

One day I hope to. I've been debating Roxannes for many months now.

Yours the V2 or V1 uber?

V1 Uber - sounds amazing with whatever I have hooked it up to - so far it has been my 1+2, Ref1 and JH16fp's - Since cables effects are subtle at times, when someone says a cable is "tuned" for a specific IEM strikes me funny - sure they can mess with alloys and ratios of materials - but to say that the new one will outperform the old one is a matter of opinion - it has to be a shade different, but better? Up to the end user...

At this level we are talking about signatures....

I'll miss a chance to audition the Uber V2 next week as my schedule won't allow me to do so.

New gadgets always bring new excitements and whether it is any better than the older version [in the case of new Uber] will be up for discussions.  I have no ground to verify [for now] and we must get those fellow headfiers who have acquired the new and also owned the old to voice out their impressions...anyone to share?

I have both Ref1 and AKR03. I would agree with you that the bass of Ref1 outperforms the AKR03. However, I prefer the mids of the AKR03; somehow it just hits the sweet spot for me. I thought its mids are forward and clea. I do not share the same experience on the mids.

In answer to the questions that had been asked about whether there are plans for an Uber Too for other IEM connectors, here's the first Uber Too with Fitear connectors. smily_headphones1.gif

Thanks Kiats for the posting.

This is the first sight of the new Uber.

Seems like the main physical difference came from after the Y-split to the earphones with much thinner wires.

How's it sound?
