Then the Uber might not be the best choice.  Don't really think that it suits your daily activity profile.  You may go for the Silver or the Gold/Silver and they are much more manageable and flexible for outdoor activities.

Cheers

@flymetothemoon-Do you feel that cable would still give an awesome sound? Will it lose a significant amount of SQ or change the signature from the Uber? TIA.

Hi Warrior,

From my own experience, the Uber provides significant improvement on all areas when compared to the Tralucent New Silver (I also owned).

I'm lucky enough that I can listen to music at work and thus made the Uber investment a bargain.

Later this week I will receive the Ref 1 delivery and will report back when I have more thorough listening.

Thanks Fly. I really appreciate that. I'm in the market for new IEMS OR CIEMS. Right now my number one choice is Noble K10, after reading too many issues with Roxannes. The Ref1 is on my list now as well, so any additional feedback you can offer when you receive them will be greatly appreciated.

Sure and will report back.

Before I bought the 1Plus2, I've also tried some other expensive IEMs (100% BAs) and found nothing really came close to 1Plus2.

After having 2 brief sessions listening to the Ref.1, I can almost assure you that this one is really special and at this price point there might be very little (or none) competition.

I've yet to read anything bad about the 1+2 as far as SQ either so I'm hopeful the Ref1 will sound "better", sorry, I know you don't like that term for this comparison. Fortunately for me, I've wasted a ton of money this month on unplanned purchases, so I have refill my stash... Which gives me some time to further research. Had I had enough money, I would have already purchased the Roxannes, which from what I've been reading, would have been a $1300 mistake. So, I'm kind of happy that I can't make a impulse purchase. This month has been too expensive, Sony zx1, RSA Intruder, and a TWAU V3.

I know how you feel.

Same that I have spent quite substantial amount of money in 2014.

Luckily, however, I did not waste (IMHO) too much money along the way (for this year, last year was a bit different as there's been some unnecessary purchase to get to where I was in 2013)... I've bought the AK240 a month ago and without went through the route like a lot of fellow headfiers upgrading from AK100...AK120...AK240.  I went straight to 240 in one go.

This, Ref 1, purchase, I am sure that I have made another more than happy purchase (same when I've bought the 1Plus2/Uber last year).

It's definitely a relief when you feel it's a good purchase. Fortunately, that's where I am as well. I'm still waiting on my cable, but I'm fairly confident that will be another good purchase. Going from SE to balanced on the intruder should be a nice upgrade, plus, aesthetically I love the cable. I'm very much into looks as well as sound, so I find it a bit easier for me to be happy. Hence, why I love the Sony.

AK240,very nice, wise choice going right to the top.
