A Grado user needing help for a closed headphone for work & commute

Hi!

I am very happy with Grados but sadly it is not a portable headphone for work & commute. So, right now I am in search for one. Any ideas? Guide? & Help?

Currently looking at AKG K 550. Is it worth it?

Your help & opinions are highly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

K550 is too large for commute...

The K545 perhaps?

Currently, I would recommend Mikros 90.

That seems like a better choice based on what you have told me about the Mikros. Somehow the DT770s got tied for first in that poll. They don't sound Grado like at all to me. smily_headphones1.gif

I completely agree. The poll was based on which models were recommended most frequently and voting is probably skewed based on limited personal experience or maybe favoritism. I haven't voted yet myself. I supposed the one in the poll that sounds least un-Grado-like is HD25-1.

It's time for Grado to create a Grado sounding closed headphone. Grado fans unite! smily_headphones1.gif

I will be testing the Mikros next week. Hope I would like it. Any advice or thoughts on it that I should know about?

1. It needs a lot of burn in: over 100 hours.

2. Wear it toward the front of your ears, not directly on top of them.
