Interesting :-)

Not sure about any medical evidence.

This reminds me a lot of the album "Time Machines", by Coil. Deep, powerful stuff, even without the aid of any, ehm, substances.

Sigh. I went to listen to that but spotify's search function is down.

By the way, the binaural recordings (e.g. of a match being lit by your ear) sound creepily realistic on my HD800. I almost jumped at the match one.

Any claims about the efficacy of binaural beats on improving health will be just that...claims.

Someone did a study here that claims some health improvement - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17309374.  But since it doesn't take into account the placebo effect, it's hard to accept it at face value.

Suffice to say that actual meditation and relaxation exercises have been proven to change the state of the brain - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Research_on_meditation.  So if you actually cleared your mind and relaxed in order to listen to that video, you're more likely benefitting from meditation.

Good music itself must have some positive health effects so I don't see why people don't just listen to that instead of these binaural videos.
