Wireless DAC?

I've had android phones for some time now and always loved the functionality this OS offers. one of those functions is the file management/browsing capabilities which many of the free apps provide. I use ES File Explorer and usually stream music from the shared folders on my pc to the android device and listen to it that way.

My latest android based phone is TCL Idol X + which has ES 9018m DAC and quite a powerful amplifier in it (it sounds as good as my iBasso DX50 to me).  Right now I'm using it to listen to some music that I have on my pc, using the better audio hardware that my phone has. I'm basically streaming digital signal over Wi-Fi Lan and the phone is turning it into analog. Is it not what a DAC basically is? I'm a noob so please don't be very critical to this "discovery" of mine :D

I don't quite understand your question, Of course you are using your phone's DAC since you r listening to music from it.

here's an example of a wireless dac.

thanks for the link :) that cleared up some things for me. The "question" was kinda vague even for me so sorry for that. I kinda discovered that fr myself and wasn't sure if I understood the concept.
