PK1 is the best king of bass earbud (in term of quality, control and quantity) that I ever listened.

Same about echo thing on female voices, no problem here.

Maybe you picked a bad PK1 pair? if you comes one day in south of france, I will be pleased to let you try my pair, which have now over 1500+ hours, and sound his best, I'am pretty sure you will change your mind.

Btw, why not adding my 38s review into first post ? are you adding only positive reviews into first post ?

i agree with your review as well, i think the TG 38s are good buds for the price, ofcourse they are much better than stock eabuds you get with your phone or ipod or watever, but they do not by any chance can compete with

the high tier earbuds, like Blox. PK1 i have never bought actually because i decided to go for the blox and boy im not sorry a bit! i  am not sure that as of today(2014) pk1 are still the king of buds like they used to be but i never

listened to them so idk. i would advise you to try BLOX, they have many good reviews here and they were a huge step for me from the PK2.

following this thread from the begining there were many negative reviews, though the positive and the extra positive mostly came from the same direction, it felt almost like we, or should I say I, were drivento love and buy them no matter what.

and so i did buy 3 pairs of TG38s and one of JL1 which turned out to be TC100, which sounds exactly the same as the TG 38S to me- crap.

i do sense there is a bias here in the thread,  and i hope my feelings wont be turned to accusations by certain individuals.

Don't agree on one point. For me, the TC100 spanks the TG38S and I like the TG38S. Not the same to me. much lower reaching bass, makes the TG38S sound thicker and  less clear. TC100 is a bit mid-forward while the TG38S is a bit recessed. TC100 has bigger stage, better, imaging, and more detail. Different sound but still do sound related/from the same brand.

hehe, sadly I never tried PK2 yet, but I hope one day! heard magical things on it also but PK1 is supposed to be the best Yuin from PK series. I also bought PK3 many months ago and was terribly disappointed by it, even 38s sounds much better to me.

The only pair from Blox I listened and owned was the TM7 that I sold but maybe I sold it too fast before thinking, because from what I can remember, it sounded a little bit better than PK1 to me (especially in mediums and highs), but unfortunately I needed money at this time.

you might be right since i didnt listen to them for more than 10 minutes. what i do know that compared to my anv3se they sound pretty thin,no bass and  very TG38s like  with a better build quality but extra uncomfortable housing

so i didnt continue and investigated any further.

nah you shouldnt try the PK2 now, i think tingo are better than them, PK series is a dying breed :D

yes you have sold the TM7 too fast i would assume from the impression i got when reading many comparisons here that they would sound"better" than PK1

and better value to money since you dont need an amp with them. ow well, maybe next time^^

I agree that their flaw is if they are too big for the ears, they will sound like a full size open headphone that isn't powered right, is thin and needs to be filled in. It does sound that way for me but I think what is there is worth matching the right amp or player with the right signature. Reminds me of the best phones I have had, whether it be Ety(but better), old school full size Sony CD's with the bio-cellulose drivers, old school AKG's, like the K400/K500. Not gonna cut it out of a portable but they great drivers. At least my pair does.

i am sorry i was really not impressed by them and will not give them another try most likely, if i do, i would surely update. for now lets agree to disagree

Yep, most likely we'll disagree :) buds are about fit plus I'm using different foams and source and hours of use etc.

TG-38S has more sub-bass than PK1 for sure. PK1 has more bass presence overall due to larger amount of mid-bass. Both are well-controlled.

PK1 sounds great, until you start comparing it to the recent earbuds that excel in balanced sound - TG-JL1, Baldoor Earbell.

Then suddenly it's not so perfect anymore.

The list of reviews hasn't been updated in a while, don't have the time to go through all the posts.

There has been the same 3-4 people posting negative opinions over and over again - you are one of them.

Nobody is trying to force you to like TG-38S, you are entitled to your own opinion.

If you don't like them - give them away or throw them away, no need to obsess about it.

Most people liked them. On Aliexpress, there are 19 positive reviews, and the only negative one is due to obvious physical damage.

Why do you keep posting about how disappointed you are with TG-38S? Your opinion has been noted, please move on.

I'd like to point out that the Dasetn 760 has had unanimous positive reviews (in terms of sound quality, not build quality) so if anyone is actually going to try one of these budget buds, they should be pretty safe by trying those. So anyone lurking/thinking of trying new earbuds after reading some disagreements on this thread, I'd recommend starting off with the Dasetn M760 and then branching off to more adventurous/personal taste buds like the Tingo Croons or PK series (which seems to have mixed reviews here for some reason).

this is only  to balance the extra positive opinion coming from the same people. no need to be obsessed and praising them either.

i hope you do understand the reviews on aliexpress  dont mean that much for people in this forum, since most likely they are coming from

people not into all the "high tier sound"

Because you keep on posting how magnificent they are, which they are clearly not. I'm here to balance things out.

I think the hype in the beginning was not justified and I'm glad it's over, if not yet, then hopefully it will be soon.

Tingo really lives up to their product slogan, "Surprise Your Ears" - I was indeed surprised by how this $15 earbuds is able to deliver the goods in spades. When I received the TC100 instead of the JL1 that I ordered, I got disappointed initially by the lack of communication provided by the aliexpress seller but then I still gave it 4 stars for the fast shipment and of course the good sound that the TC100 provides. I even thought that it could replace my OK1 which has been with me for years for overall sound signature preference (the OK1 replaced the PK1 for me which I don't like because of the tendency of the bass to cover the clarity of the mids in some or most of the tracks that I had that time. Maybe I did not give it proper burn-in but still I had it for almost half year before I finally gave it up). The OK1, for me, is better in every aspect except for bass quantity. Then came the mighty 38S and I have to thank BenF for such a precious discovery. This is truly a gem regardless of the price. The more it is because of its cost. As of this writing, I already have more or less 40+ hours of continuous play/burn-in on it. The sibilance is almost neglible except for some tracks that are not well-mastered or low quality. I have to tell this, the soundstage is marvelous! Very expansive, airy and open. I don't know if that's how to describe it but every time I listen to it, it's not like listening to earbuds but like I am inside a car with a high-end sound system. The placement of instruments is magical and the singers are like singing on top of my head than inside my ears. What I like more is I can raise the volume higher without sounding "shouty". This may be due to the wide and deep soundstage. Everything sounds natural and live. Btw, I am using two foams and have covered the holes at the side of the buds which helped lessen the sibilance and gave it a deeper bass. The quantity can still be improved but even without that, I will not exchange this for anything else. In fact, I am planning of buying another 1 or 2 of this as reserve. I might put the OK1 on sale later when the burn-in process is finished and can compare the two head-to-head. I don't keep too many buds at the same time. The TC100, I don't know what to do with it. I might give it to someone special. Overall, I love the TG-38S. For me, it's a masterpiece on it's own. I will share my overall ranking of the buds that I have later when I can. So far, it's money well-spent and ears well-fed.

99% of buyers on Aliexpress come from Head-fi. It is the only place TG-38S is being discussed.

It's also #1 bestseller on Dasetn.com

This is my thread and therefore it is my job to inform people about them.

It is not your job to constantly "balance" others opinions. Do you really have nothing better to do?

Do you get stuck like that every time you are disappointed with a purchase or did something happen to especially offend you?

Do you think you have absolute power to decide what is "clearly" good or not? Your opinion has no more weight than anybody else's.

Different people have different opinions - please accept that.

Agreed. Good find indeed. The TG38S definitely has an ace up its sleeve compared to any earbud I have heard in terms of soundstage. That thing is a boss in that regard. What genre of music do you listen to? I found that their sound signature really comes to life and does justice to older music with less bass, less drums, and more guitars and vocals. I listen to a decent amount of hip hop as well as the oldie classics (Simon&Garfunkel, Lead Zeppelin, Beatles, etc), and have found that the Dasetn M760 does hip hop and rock much better. However, the TG38S really sound good on songs with lots of highs and vocals since the 38S is crystal clear and airy in that regard. If you're a "modern audiophile" (listen to mainly newer songs, eletronic, hiphop etc) then the 760 will be an easy upgrade no question. It depends on your library.
