Dasetn/Tingo/Baldoor earbuds Reviews and Impressions

Ivery IS-4 review:

Build Quality:
Average, no issues here.

Fit:
They are about the same size as M760, really easy to fit.

Sound Quality:
IS-4 has a very "analogue" sound.
Just like we may enjoy a sound of a tube amplifier, even though it is technically not as good as a solid state amplifier,
IS-4's magic is in its imperfections. Technically, it's not very good, but the female vocals on it are among the best or maybe even the best. IS-4 adds a certain reverberation to the female voice, making it sound more vulnerable. Warning: listening to a sad song through these earbuds may cause serious depression.
Male vocals sound good too, especially when accompanied by the female ones.
The Civil Wars and The Swell Season sound really good.

Because IS-4 is already warm and imperfect, it pairs best will neutral sources.
Sabre-based DACs and E12 as an amp work great, Sansa Clip Plus or E17 as an amp - not so much.

Conclusion:
At less then 7$, it's a great value. Much better than another 7$ earbud - Awei ES10.
This price is supposed to go back to the regular 17$ tomorrow, hopefully the seller will continue the sale.

My current earbud ratings are
TG-38S = TG-JL1 > E100 > BE5 > PK1 > M760 > M1 >= ANV3SE > PK2 = ANV3 > IS-4 >= M2C >= KZ-OMX2 > M3 > ES10 > AP8
Or in terms everyone can understand
16$ = 31$ > 20$ > 95$ > 160$ > 26$ > 15$ >= 100$ > 80$ = 70$ > 7$ >= 50$  >= 11$ > 13$ > 6$ > 12$

Tested Dasetn MC5 tonight. Initial impressions: Very. Freakin'. Good.

These things are excellent. Not sure why Dasetn priced them below anything else he sells, but they are phenomenal. I'll write a review later as I get more testing hours, but wow...the bass on these is a very pleasant surprise. Very impressed.

Also testing out the MC5 tonight/morning. Enjoying the sound so far. I agree the sound is a surprise and handles a bit of bass boost quite well.

I didn't even find it necessary to bass boost the music unlike the M760 which could use a little bit of bass boost, but I will try bass boosting the MC5 and see how clear and tight the bass remains. The MC5 kind of sound like a M760 with bass boost turned on but without any sacrifice in detail of the highs. Very revealing even though they are a lush and balanced earbud. The mids might not be as brilliant, intimate, and juicy as the M760, but they are definitely not inferior. The bass kick is just great. I'd say these are the most balanced sounding earbuds I've heard between the 760, Tingo Croons TG-38S, and Blox ANVSE3.

Oh I agree they do not need a bass boost, I was just testing out what these could do and handle. :)

I've been following this thread pretty closely the past few weeks. I have been using a pair of AP8's to listen to podcasts and have had a pair of PK1s for the past few years, which I love. What I don't love is needing a Fiio E11 to pair with my Sandisk Fuze. I have been looking into a DX50, but I'm not sure how the PK1s will sound unamped out of it. Therefore I have been trying to find something that sounds as good (or as a long shot, better) un-amped. I have a pair of Ear Bell E100s that delivered today, but it looks like the MC5 could be next on my list to try. I'm looking forward to reading more impressions of these budget friendly buds.

How are your first impressions of the EarBell?

I haven't gotten to actually listen to them since I am at work. Plus I'm going away until tomorrow night after work. Hopefully I will get to do some listening tomorrow or Friday night. I will report back after.
