Lol. Looking at Pro tools, it doesn't have as many features as fl, it doesn't have as many instruments, it doesn't have... A lot of things to be honest.

Pro tools is for audio editing. Its not even able to compete with fl for edm production. It just isn't made for that.

Okay, um.

Listen, Pro Tools is industry standard. Like, when you hear an album? It was made in Pro Tools. Play a video game? That was done in Pro Tools. See a movie? Audio done in Pro Tools. That is WHAT IS USED. And it absolutely STOMPS FL Studio in terms of versatility and capability.

Others like Logic, Reason, Ableton, and a cheaper option like Reaper are gaining popularity, particularly in cases where VSTs are being used heavily since they can take over a lot of the grunt work, but FL Studio is a hobbyist software. Period. SOME have used it, but they are the exception, not the norm.

I'm sorry man, but you're just wrong on all sides on this matter.

Yes, it is. FL Studio is cheap software for hobbyists. I can guarantee you that if you look at the rigs of the producers in any genre, you're gonna see stuff like Logic and Cubase, NOT friggin' FL Studio.

EDIT: you know what, I wasn't entirely correct, there are some guys who use FL studio, if this link is to be believed: http://damuseblog.blogspot.com/2011/04/which-daw-do-professional-producers-use.html

True, none use Pro Tools, but look at the numbers on Cubase, Reason, and Logic.

And keep in mind, this is JUST for loop-based beat production. Because, after all, that's really the ONLY thing FL does. Expand the net to include actual recorded audio? Goodbye, FL...

See above. Apparently Ableton, Reason, and Logic can beat it. Logic in particular seems pretty dang popular.

Oh, and Logic is Mac only. ;)

Let's back up a minute. This all started because you claimed that there was nothing for audio production on a Mac and your "Proof" was ONE piece of software that's pretty much only used by people in a specific genre because that's all you're aware of.

That's the problem here, dude. You're way out of your element. All you know is this one little segment.
