Mind you my brother does have all of our old vinyl (he has a couple of nice vinyl rigs). Good to see that Webster isn't completely obscure and getting some love in the US. Do you have Live Magnetic Air? The live version of Here Among The Cats is so good.

More like that album.  It's one long concept, with "The Story of the Hare Who Lost His Spectacles" thrown in for good measure.

I sure do.  I think I have all their stuff now.

Synergy is everything with these cans as are with most top cans.
Properly amped they stay in league with he6.
You didn't tell them you have a grill moded he560 with FocusA pads strategically turn 90 degrees so that the thin part faced down in order to extract even more detailing..
I just went one step even further by removing the center cloth on the pads wich are redundant as the drivers have a front dust cover already. .
I have just removed a thin veil and extracted even more clarity and will compare to my moded hd800 tomorrow. .

I would agree with most you so well pointed out and add that the he560 is above all the Audio Technica cans I had wich includes the wonderful w3000anv. ..

Wonderful idea!!!!!!! I will give it a try tonight when I get home, thanks!!!!! Cheers 🍻

I did that too (remove the dust filter off the pads); was NOT easy to do it cleanly though, as the pads are glued to the mounting rings and the dust filter is tucked deep in-between.

So what difference you hear?

Not much TBH; it's a conceptual improvement, but practically whatever difference it makes is negligible to my perception. Regrilling mod, in comparison, is magnitudes more in sonic impact.

I agree with regrilling mod, thanks to my friend Max134 it's already done but I also turned pads 90 degree so that stitches facing back because I think it's affecting how treble sound comparing to factory settings

I'll be doing the grill mod on one of the two [400i or 560].

Say, Jerg, which one benefits more from the grill mod if it can be quantified?

The Bifrost is very clean, dynamic, not bright, at least in my setup, have heard that it is bright with the HD800, but that may be the 800.

It's not just the brightness, though. I detected thinness (with the Enigma) as well as a severe lack of bass. Plugging the HE-560 and Enigma into either my DIY amp or the McIntosh MAC 4100 provides an obvious improvement to bass definition, body, and authority. Not only that but the soundstage also opened up significantly.

It's not quite above my ES10 yet. The ES10 is still cleaner and less fatiguing overall to listen to although the HE-560 has a more effortless soundstage. I've ordered the Focus Pad A in hopes that it would be able to tame the upper midrange/lower treble hardness that I am hearing with the HE-560. Even purposefully designing my amplifier in order to EQ down that range still causes the hardness to be heard. It sticks out like a sore thumb since the rest of the presentation is very agreeable to my ears.

It sounds just like taking off a cloth cover...
Lol

Ok I am hearing more immediacy and more realistic cues. .

Lol yes I know blasphemy!

I would say the he6 properly amped and moded like I herd is probably the best balanced overall sounding planar I ever herd.

To get the he560 in this league ,
You have to grill mod it, pad rip extra cloth, and heavily or well amp it..

Then it becomes it's brother. . (!)

The cover is very thin... I am not destroying a pair of pads for that... The grill mod, on the other hand...
