Answer to that question is yes. PM sent.

Guys, to prevent further derailment, please PM me any questions regarding EQ. I will be happy to thoroughly answer them, and to the best of my knowledge.

I will wait for awhile before purchasing, so I can see if there will be any revisions and such....but they are very much on my radar and I already have the money saved up.

Which and how many amps have you used, Jerg ?

I've tried these on EF6 and NFB-11.32; it seems to be fairly transparent to the upstream amp; EF6 is the more balanced sound signature with fuller midrange, and 11.32 gave it a leaner, slightly more treble-heavy sound with a slight roughness/shrillness to the treble (relative to the EF6 driving).

I'm thinking these are going to pair wonderfully with warmer SS amps and tube amps

That's great news..
It means the final production will be superior to the test models..

Hey it sounds like your the type that would view a cup "half empty" instead it "half full".. Lol

Not knowing all involved, I am sure they know what's best and they will release when it is ready.
The issue itself seems like something very minor for their capabilities to fix..
Edit: Although an incrediblely great discovery by Jerg..

I am only pointing your post because you needlessly point out other companies errors like audeze, that have nothing to do with this.
Justifying your wait time is fine but don't have to paint a cloud over us "pre-order" guys tongue.gifwink.gif

also very much looking forward to the lcd-x comparison, as I have the X strapped to my head right now on loan.  Yes, these are heavy, so I see where people are coming from.  weight is squarely on the top of the head, and is indeed uncomfortable after about 30 min.  I used to be in the "who cares about weight" camp.  but I may be changing sides.  Really looking forward to hearing the 560 when I get a chance.  It sounds like it is faring quite well in reviews.

Great post mate! :beerchug:

I agree, especially since its been weeks!

This is like the one issue I hope they'll fix and that's it. Seems like there are no major ones, so pretty stellar if you ask me...  so far :]

No need for delays! Done right once is enough :P

LMFAOOO if that's what you got out of my post, so be it.

I've dealt with Hifiman (HE-500) and Audeze (LCD-2/LCD-3) before multiple times. Have gotten driven failures, cracked wood rings, imbalanced drivers, cable issues etc. They are both very communicative and usually well behaved in customer service, so that's not the problem. However, wouldn't it still be good to get a solid error free phone out of the start so there won't be a need for a return at all. I'm not saying that they are coming with out absolute crap headphones, of course they know what they are doing as that's why they have been so successful - yet you do have to consider all the revisions they come out with. So if they are still planning to make last minute changes, and perhaps significant ones, I just hope they'll have enough time to time to test out their reliance.

I'll leave end this topic here, it never goes well on head-fi. LOL "paint a cloud over "pre-order" guys"....painting a cloud actually sounds fun :D

100% agree.  I'd rather it be delayed another couple months and have no revisions later.  If revisions come out later, you are either forced to send it back and be without it for a while or hang on to it and be hit if you ever try to resell.  How much do you think a rev1 HE400 would go for now?

How long ago did the HE400 and HE500 come out?  Another couple months isn't a big deal to get things perfect.

EXACTLY. Someone who gets it.

Also, from a personal standpoint, I hate to be without a headphone and have to pay for shipping. Hifiman took weeks on my pair, so I was headphoneless for almost a month. Audeze was around 2 weeks. I've had to send off my gear like 5 times with these two companies alone. That's higher than for all my other brands in speakers and headphones combined.

I never have to worry about revision changes with other brands, even in headphone world besides primarily these two companies. It's only because I like their sound so much that I feel the need to point out that if a better and long lasting product can come out by simply putting in more time, than so be it. This will be much more preferred, especially for those that buy first.

But there's no need for a revision now, is there? -_-

The baffle is like the one thing and it will be fixed prior to shipping the first batch.

What exactly it is you think needs fixing?

Just to clarify, I don't think we've heard that HFM will definitely make the changes to the baffle that jerg did and tested.  Last I read, Fang & Co. will do something similar, test it, and then decide if they will incorporate any changes into the first production run.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.  I certainly hope they take as much time as they need to implement what seems to be a very reasonable fix/modification/improvement before shipping the first production run.

No, but I'd love to assume they'll do something to fix it, especially since the fix seems rather trivial [I mean it really only just evens up sub-bass, nothing else... that's a reasonable fix!]

I am all in for them taking their time but I'd hate to throw weeks and months around...

The fix really seems simple [whatever way they choose to implement it], so a few days of testing sounds reasonable... End of April still seems reasonable to me.

In fact, I'd be pissed if they didn't choose to fix it, if Jerg is right and there's no catch to it.
