I haven't even received an e-mail saying they are at the border yet, and they were in Illinois two days ago! And I paid for the most expensive shipping option available in the cart. My A18 is coming from Texas so that should be fun. Just to add to my off-topic rant I sold my DT 880s to a head-fier in Hawaii and he had them in under 4 days and it takes this long from Minnesota to Ontario? I also sold my HF2s to a NY head-fier who received them in two days. Seems things leaving Canada are fast, it is the getting in that sucks. Can I blame this on the USPS? I know I'm not American, but can I still complain about your postal service? Okay, angry, frustrated vent over, thanks for indulging.

Funnily enough it's way faster if you bought straight from head-direct; DHL shipping from Hifiman's Hong Kong warehouse all the way to Toronto took 3~4 days always, super fast.

Not in my case, hasn't even hit the border yet. No news since Illinois two days ago. I know I'm being impatient, but who wouldn't be when reading all of these fantastic impressions. At least I'll have plenty of time to decide what the first track I cue up will be. I'm leaning toward Negative Girl by Steely Dan, always a great choice.

Planar magnetics don't fall in this category so they should sound the same given a good amp w/flat response and minimal distortion.

I've heard a difference with amps where the frequency response of the amp was not flat (rolled off bass), also confirmed when I graphed the frequency response using a known good soundcard. I ditched those amps. But I found the Macbook Pro and iPhones to be really good and flat.

The HE-560 sounds great on them.

Some people prefer a non-linear DAC/AMP output depending on headphone.  I can definitely see some people feeling that the HE-560 benefit from a warmer amp.  It's all a matter of preference then.

Last time, mine just stuck in the custom and the latest update is very like yours, from the UPS website it said that they were still in the States(never said anything about Canada Custom).

It's obviously the way your dealer shipped the HE-560s. My dealer (Moon Audio) shipped me my order (pre-order) right as soon as they received them and they made it across the border in 2 days (into Alberta). Of course they used Fedex Express even though I only paid for Fedex ground. Gotta like that... :)

I listened my HE560 from my tube amp, and results are fantastic.

RazorDog only seemed to have USPS options available and I won't lie (because you're not my wife), typically you save a lot of money with USPS as I rarely get hit with duties or taxes so at the time it seemed like a good deal. I need to man up and stop complaining so much I guess. But seriously, Minnesota is really not that far away here people. My Asgard from California was here in under 5 days just a few months back so I guess I was optimistic.

So just to recap here, you're saying it is wrong to lie and otherwise deceive my wife to improve my gear? I'll think about that, but it seems crazy to me. You Americans I tell you.

And you were drunk, weren't you.  Thanks for noticing.  I'm half Canadian.  OK, not really, but I really like the few places in Canada I've visited.  Maybe I'll visit you to test your HE-560s.  Never been to the capital.

Wrong?  Who am I to judge?  Like I said, if the indulgences are basically equitable, and you can rationalize it in the fine manner you did, and your marriage is stable, why not.  OTOH, I think it would be moronic to risk one's marriage on such indulgences.  I can only speak for myself, of course.

Enjoy those HE-560s, and when you least expect it... expect it ;)

Freudian slip?  :D

See, that's your problem right there.  Just like in that Toronto park, you're trying to work an angle.

Oh! what a tangled web we weave
When first we practise to deceive!

Yes, our postal service blows.  Hope the 560s cross the border soon!

LOL, if you ever come to Ottawa you can count on a host for sure. My paternal grandfather was an American (from NY City) so I have relatives in NY and California, but sadly not in contact with that side of the family. Nice to hear you value your marriage so highly, it is refreshing. Thankfully I recently upgraded my entire speaker based system so I won't totally suffer. Listening to Tool through two nice Rel subs and some Neat speakers. Still, dying to have the 560. At a meet I listened to some HE 400s and I really liked what I heard way back when so I can only guess how nice the 560 will sound.

I've just been using my Fiio X3 with my HE-560s and listening to some live performances encoded at 256bit AAC:

Wicked Game - Chris Isaak

Rhiannon - Stevie Nicks

The Chain - Fleetwood Mac

Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin

Alone - Heart

ALL AMAZING!!! What a treat these cans are turning out to be. Definitely more musical than my HD800s for rock/pop/electronica, but I'm still preferring the HD800s for instrumental/classical/jazz. Vocals are a toss-up. Sometimes they are better on the 560, sometimes on the HD800. Either way, I have them both so I get to enjoy ALL my music that much more. For all you waiting for your deliveries, get ready to GET HAPPY! :D

Come on over to the Darkside Dale.....marriage really is an exceptional institution, how can you function without a woman directing your every step (ok, my Wife told me to add that 😳)? You know, if I had been able to get the Gang at Headroom to answer the bloody phone so I could have picked up that $720.00 deal, I might be singing a different tune😡, but as it stands only bad advice coming your way! Make Momma happy, give her some grand-babies Dale, you are being selfish, lol.

Edit: why are you impersonating Dale, stop it at once( it was my Wife's fault, I am not confused, really💩).......

Hehehehe... my mom would get a good laugh out of some of these comments. Oh well, I'll see about the marriage thing when the right girl comes along. So far she hasn't...

Shipping between Canada and the US.. or rather from the US into Canada is the worst I've ever encountered.  I can get a parcel from Japan in 3-4 days, England about the same but for the same price (sometimes even more) it will routinely take 2 weeks.  Shipping from Canada into the US is fine though.

I also paid for Express service, $50!  Shipped on Tuesday and still not even at the border..  That's pathetic.  I'm pretty annoyed I spent the extra $25 on shipping now..

but... as someone said.. "first world problems"

regarding marriage... well, kids are great..
