Plus, the 560 is only veneer as opposed to solid wood so real maintenance should be minimal. Essentially, less is more so beyond removing oil from the veneer with a dry soft cloth you shouldn't need to do much. Perhaps a very dry climate might require a little light oil, linseed I think is good (but research it to be sure), but remember anything you put on the surface will ultimately allow dust and such fun stuff to stick to it. I would say handle the wood the least you need to, store the headphones when possible and keep an eye on the relative humidity in the room.
Thanks for the clarification :) Here in Australia it isn't too humid so I think I'll take your advice and wipe it every now and then with a clean, dry micro fibre cloth.

+1. Give it a listen before writing anything off ;) It can't hurt and thats what I am doing with my Rolls Bellari HA540 amp.
