That's odd...  DHL normally calls you if you're not there :p  I just left a note telling them to leave it at the door since I'd be gone :p  At the same time, I trust my neighbors in my neighborhood :p  Not sure what yours is like XD

There was a mandatory import tax fee, which I forgot to relay to my landlord. She refused to temporarily pay the money to the DHL guy haha.

Yes I do believe they are regarded as a tier 1 can.  However, they are not the flagship.  Reach for the HE-6 if you want the current flagship.

Ok, if you decide to try it later on, just drop me a PM and we can arrange from there smily_headphones1.gif

DA8 seems like an excellent piece of source, I'm sure you'd love it.

Just got mine earlier today.  After all the reports describing the sound as somewhat thinner with less body in the bass, I wasn't sure I was going to like them as I already felt that the pre-order version was a tad bit too thin for my tastes.  Ironically, I like the newer version much more even if the differences are minor.  To my ears, the mids are noticeably clearer and the bass is does sound a little bit softer (though it extends just as well).  However, the first thing I noticed was despite being "clearer" the overall sound was much less strident and fatiguing.  It's almost as if a touch of Euphony was added to the sound making certain tracks that sounded completely dry and sibilant on the pre-order version much more listenable on the revised model.  Finally, the new version is also lot more comfortable (Yea, I have big ears).  I'll probably be keeping these for a while.

No need to respond bashing with bashing.

Wood veneer is a slice of real wood, not plastic painted and textured to imitate wood.

Both are reputable, decent sounding, comfortable headphones. People will decide based on sound. If I liked the sound of one more than the other, I'd go with that without a second thought. I can't say that about, an Audeze for example, because of weight and comfort issues.

For me, HE-560 strikes my interest because of its treble energy and detail.

Yes the materials and workmanship are top notch..
flagship quality. .
The sound is arguably mid tier level though,
So that is where I feel those comments are coming from.
People just have to accept that these are expensive units like top Ultrasone models are, but sound is also a personal choice of flavor.

Then again, what is in the chain will also contribute to the sound...

I wouldn't really want to be seen wearing these in public...but for home use, they are fine.

yeah, i agree..it looks kind of ridiculous in my opinion.

Comfort > looks any day for me. I'm wearing headphones for personal enjoyment, not for strangers to look at me. Not that they will in the first place, since these are home headphones.

I'd go along with the joke... but neither the Solos nor the Studios were exceptionally comfortable when I auditioned them from friends. Maybe above-average but nowhere near HD800 / HE560 level in terms of ergonomics.
