I haven't had my HE-500's for all that long.

Someone say Binaural?

If you don't have spotify it's free to sign up (although I highly recommend their paid service as you get to download content in 320 OGG Vorbis).

Can — Flow Motion

Ottmar Liebert — Up Close

Dr. Chesky — Dr. Chesky's Sensational, Fantastic, and Simply Amazing Binaural Sound Show

Amber Rubarth — Sessions from the 17th Ward

It has not been released yet, right?

I just can't find actual release date for USA... or is there one?

Ditto, though a bit longer than you.  I say enjoy them, keep an eye on the HE-560s (reviews and price), and if it comes down or goes on sale, see where you're at.

Alright thanks guys! I'll look into Spotify.

Is there a world of difference between normal and binaural masters?

Nope, no dates yet. But "soon" should be pretty accurate :]

With all the good news on soundstage, clarity, and bass articulation,
I am wondering how they will hold up against other "top" open cans...
Regardless, sounds like a winner!

This isn't the thread for this but my mind is blown that you don't have Spotify. I highly suggest upgrading from free to premium. Try it for a month.

Well it sounds like Hifiman once again kicks above its price point or at least make the headphones worth it wink.gif

That is out of my jurisdiction as I have none of those; I'm sure others who received a demo HE560 can chime in though, after some time (thorough comparisons take time and concentration).

I still have my d2000 pads. Should raise the sub-bass and darken the signature. Def going to have to try them when I get mine. No way will they be ass comfortable as the new pads though. Really looking forward to them.

Yes and no... There can be, but most binaural stuff sounds no 'better' than a very well mastered album that happens to sound good on headphones to my ear, but this will vary from person to person due to different ear anatomy. The material is very sparse, though. The best I have heard is Ottmar Liebert - Up Close.

+1 on Up Close. I just heard it for the first time this week. Insanely good.

Yea they really use the binaural tech to it's fullest on that album.

Okay jerg, here's a question that hasn't been asked yet. How do you rate ERI on the new 560? What, you don't know what ERI means? Well, that's cause I just made it up. ;)  ERI is Emotional Response Index. It's given on a 10 point scale with 1 being utterly boring/sleep inducing and 10 being toe tapping, tingles down the spine, you want to get up and dance around the room in your boxers strumming the air guitar.

It would help if you would assign an ERI to the 400 and 500 also.
