So guys HiFiMAN using wood veneer instead a real wood, with same price?

PS: Sorry if my english is bad, it's not my native language.

^^ Yes. Due to the many reason already described.

So how much is the final weight? Would it be too heavy if they used magnesium or aluminum?

There has been no mention in change of weight. I'd guess it would be a few grams lighter but maybe not enough to even notice. They are already incredibly light for a planar mag.

Will depend on how much plastic is used (in contrast to the original amount of wood).

I suppose it's cheaper to manufacture without wooden cups, but I think it's okay with the same price, especially considering the extra R&D with better pads and improved sound. That doesn't come for free and is definitely also a big part of the product price and what you pay for which some tend to forget.

And if we could just know about the Jade bias and Stax amp compatibility!

It may be quicker to manufacturer, that's for sure.  Not sure about the cost of teak wood vs ebony veneer though.

Thanks!

I'd like to know this too. Of those who have listened to the HE-560, would the T1 or the 560 be the better choice?

From what I've read, the HE-560s seem to be quite neutral, so I would assume the T1s have a brighter treble as well as more forward mids. Would that be an accurate assumption?

I didn't like the T1 because it could poke me in the ear with sibilance from time to time when I did not expect it and lacked a certain amount of silkiness I like.

I have not heard the 560 but I like my HE500 a lot more than my (now sold) T1.

We don't know...  They just got redesigned and the sound has changed due to it.

I'm not talking about the T1, I'm referring to the 560...  No one knows what the 560 sounds like since no one has heard the final, most current, revision yet.

Can't wait to see the CSD plots .. =) in my opinion, for it to be a reference... decay has to be very very fast in all freq range..without resonnance spots

but heck some "audiophile" say slow decay can add good stuff to the sound.. humm(i don't see how)

As widely known T1 (and HD-800) need always to be properly amped. Personally I like the tonal signature of my HE-500 (now sold) more than that of T1. On the other hand T1 can do some things better than HE-500, f.ex. separation, and with T1 it is easier to follow bass melodies etc.  To me HE-500 has more organic and 3-d sound while in some cases T1 sounds perhaps a little more realistic. T1 shines on very good recordings while HE-500 tries to make the most of everything. With certain kind of amplification etc. I've tried to travel with my T1 to the same direction as HE-500 to make listening even more enjoyable. T1 certainly is more comfortabe. T1 is a brilliant instrument while HE-500 is much of fun. I must admit I miss the mids and the perhaps a little romantic tone of HE-500, but in the long run my neck couldn't bear the weight of the headphone. The comfort issue is why HE-6 isn't my choice either. I'm expecting HE-560 to combine the best qualities of HE-500 and T1. I mostly listen to acoustic music, classical, jazz, folk and so on. I would love HE-560 to sound like my Harbeths which I simply love.:D
