It definitely needs more punch to it.  The balance is fine though however.

IYO. IMO it doesn't. And therein lies the dilemma.

I'm with Jerg. My pair is pretty much perfect in terms of bass punch: enough to be involving with all my rock tracks, not too much to be fatiguing.

It is not Audeze bass, it is tight and controlled. It probably takes time to adjust to. I, personally, could not adjust to the LCD-X bass... YMMV

I guess it's all just a slight balancing act to make the headphone sound a tiny bit more neutral and HFM is doing just some quick final touches.
It's certainly nothing to worry about, thanks for shunning my dark thought.
So far it sounds like HE-6 with a bit more (lower) mids and bass and a bit less treble (on my setup)... That was my dream all along biggrin.gif (Mstage might also help but it also tames the hight a bit... Might have to roll them oppies ;P)

Oh and what I write here is 99% of the time stuff already posted by people like Jerg and others... It was you who poster about a slight retune, didn't you? (what ThurstonX posted and beyond)smily_headphones1.gif

In fact, all doubts ( the little of them) will be shunned when I finally hold the baby in my hands so... Come! biggrin.gif It'll be like Christmas ;P

you were doing the same thing in the pm-1 impressions thread. guess that's your posting style.

Audeze bass is tight and controlled.

But not very fast / focused. More of an enveloping bass than a defined one.

It might be the opposite for me.  I'm wondering if the HE-560 will sound bass light coming from the LCD-X.  Hopefully it won't be the same experience I had going from the LCD-X to the Alpha Dogs.

It's closer to the AD than any Audeze, for sure.

This is my first post here - and you may immediately notice that English isn't my first language. During the last few years I've  been listening to music with headphones like HD 600, HD 650, K-702, LCD-2 and especially with HE-500, which I really liked a lot. However, sold it in January and bought T1 which is my main can at the moment, driven by Corda Symphony and also a top vintage intergrated ampilifier. The valves are not my cup of tea right now, perhaps sometimes in the future. Looking forward to be able to hear HE-560 some day. It seems that this could be my choice - HE-500 really was something but this is reported to have some additional virtues that you perhaps couldn't find with HE-500. The only thing that maybe worries me a bit is - wood.  Do you think we could expect a some kind of non-wooden (free from wood) version some day?

It sounds thin compared to the AD!

That's how I reacted to the HE-5LE as well.  Nice wall of bass, but totally lacked definition when compared to the Alpha Dogs, or even Grado's.  It was fun at first, but got old within a month.  Really hoping the 560's are a long-term can.

All my new cans are my final ones till the next ones
